My vision to pursue a Master in Business Analytics

The basic human mind works better than any machine simply because it knows how to improve and learn from past experiences. In this digital age, everyone has equal opportunities to grab data, but to understand how to deal with this information and make your company stand out in the market, is a significant deal. There is hardly any field that does not require statistical analysis. I think before entering into any market; you must have strong foundations with you. That will keep you going for the long term, and this course, in particular, is I think my foundation to grow as an individual and as a business enthusiast.

My vision to pursue a Master in Business Analytics raised when I started observing well-established businesses, how things work around me, people act or react, and that is when I got to know the importance of ‘Business Analytics’. Impactful decisions could lead an organization to achieve the everlasting growth, and the importance of knowing where you stand is something I have discovered essential while acquiring the basic knowledge of business analytic during my post-graduation period. Business analytic does not only revolve around a particular field, but it also showcases the balance between the past and the future. Something life always throws up at you, no matter where you are and to which field you belong to. Learning from the past and thrive in a tough future is something you always need. This realization makes me even more determined to have more in-depth knowledge in this field.

During my internship period at “Bharat Electronics Ltd,” I used my theoretical knowledge into the real working environment by functioning on large data sets to understand the pattern of performances in the organization. From taking feedback to using the Data collection method plays a vital role in making a business successful not only for the company but for its consumers as well. I think the best way to serve people is by understanding their requirements and by knowing where you lack to provide them. Knowing business analytic can help me not only grow as an individual but also provide me insight on how to satisfy business requirements.

I completed my graduation in Bachelor of Commerce and Masters in Business Administration; my major was a human resource and international business. After achieving my master’s degree, I got the opportunity to work with IBM in the finance and administration department for 15 months, and there I realized the arising need for business analytic even more. Be it formulating the business plan or executing it. While working there, I realized that people were working with lengthy procedures and so when I was asked to give an innovative idea to improve our performance, I came up with one, which is to automate the standard steps. When the automation team executed the idea, we calculated the time taken by us to process this automated procedure- which was much lesser than the one we were using before. And it is not only saving our efforts and time but was also very cost-effective. I was a part of the collection team while I joined, but due to my performance and efficiency, I got the chance to work with master data team which deals with financial statements of the company, analyze the data, interpret the financial situation and credibility of the company. I always think that it is better to work smarter than work harder, and so I look forward to enhancing my knowledge and open my mind even wider to think beyond.

I realized that business analytic is not only required in one particular field; instead, it is required in all the operations of the company. Be it marketing in which it will help in analyzing the market, be it in human resources where it helps in analyzing the requirement of manpower in a particular workforce or be it in Finance where it helps in analyzing the financial statements of a company and prevent them by various risks. I feel that this is the right time to pursue my master’s in business analytics and desire to pursue it from your University so that I can extend my knowledge as I want to learn new technologies, methodologies, and techniques like R, Python, and tableau.

I am hopeful that my time at your prestigious University will not only give me insights on how to think beyond but will also make me enthusiastic and more confident in pursuing my career. I am sure that while gaining skills and adhering knowledge in the particular course I will gain insights, not only on the market needs but also the issues society is facing and how to overcome it by mindfulness. Also, I think this University will help me achieve my career goals by providing me suitable opportunities that will propagate my career in the right direction and will give me the power to achieve something bigger in life.
