Netflix’s Alien Vs. Predator Anime: Preview, Release Date and Rumors
Netflix is allegedly hiding a complete Alien vs. Predator Anime for release at an undisclosed date. That’s according to the Perfect Organism: The Alien Saga, a popular podcast with insider information from Fox and Disney.
“Before 20th Century Fox completed their merger with the Walt Disney Company, (we were) in regular contact with several key players at Fox,” podcast hosts said early this week.
“During this period, it was revealed to us that an Alien Vs. Predator anime was complete for Netflix and then never released,” the Perfect Organism podcast members added in their statement. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Are the Reports True?
As good as the reports sound, no major network has validated them. In fact, there has never been reports about the project, not from 20th Century Fox, Disney, or Netflix. Nonetheless, if the statements are true, Netflix could be shelving one of their best projects ever.
Is Netflix hiding the project for Alien Day? For the uninitiated, Alien Day 2020 will be celebrated on April 26 and is practically the best day to release such a project. But considering Netflix isn’t talking about the project, only time will tell whether it will ever happen.
Alien vs. Predator Preview
If you are a Sci-fi horror fan, you’ve probably watched a few Alien vs. Predator movies. If not, here’s what they entail:
- Alien vs. Predator is a merger of the Alien and the Predator series
- The franchise began as a comic series by Chris Warner and Randy Stradley
- The series became a video game in the 1990s
- The first Alien vs. Predator movie began in 2004
- The franchise later inspired films, game spinoffs, and comics
Besides movies and video games, Alien vs. Predator has also inspired several casino games. These slots feature some themes of the franchise, but in true casino spirit, you can use them to win money.
Any Forthcoming Trailer?
Without an Alien vs. Predator trailer, there’s surely no way of determining when Netflix will release the show. Of course, it has hidden shows in the past only to announce them at the last minute.
But a trailer is necessary for fans to determine what the potential anime will be all about. Will it be similar to the movie franchise? Will the anime feature a different storyline?
The original Alien vs. Predator flick explored a storyline in which adventurer Alexa Woods discovers the Yautja had done an ethnic cleansing on the Xenomorphs in the past.
The franchise’s themes changed over the years, including characters and settings, though. As such, Netflix’s most logical option would probably be to work the cast that starred in The Predator (2018).
A Battle Royale Style Anime?
It might be mere speculation, but there’s a possibility Netflix releases an anime with a Battle Royale. The reason for this originates from the wild success of the 2010 Predator movie.
The flick pitted together aliens with mercenaries with the ultimate goal being to escape alive. Most of the human warriors died, and those who survived escapes just at the time hoards of aliens were parachuting down. Netflix could start where Predator (2010) ended through its new anime.
