‘NO Country for Old’ men by McCarty
Chapter four of the ‘NO Country for Old’ men by McCarty comprise of two sections. The first section is when Bell recalls when he became a county sheriff aged twenty-five with a wife whom they have been in the marriage for thirty-one years. The couple had a daughter who is dead now, and he is not going to talk about it. He appreciates the role that her wife has played in his life.
The second section is when Wendell and Bell are inspecting Moss’s trailer and finds the trailer’s door lock broken and together leave the scene in a hurry. Sanderson’s case becomes big news and draws both the law enforcement and the journalists alike to the scene of the crime. The dead bodies and the short up trucks found in the desert are examined by Macintyre, who is a DEA agent alongside Bell and Wendell.
They discover that one of the shots up trucks must have had Mexican cocaine.
After picking up his transponder, Chigurh is notified of his briefcase in Del Rio. On his way to Del Rio, he misses a bird he shoots at while Moss goes back to Trail Motel, where he requests for a different room and uses tent poles to get his briefcase from his previous rented apartment without going into the room. Moss gets room keys, and after entering the Moss’s original room in the trail motel room Bell, he shoots two Mexican men with Moss missing (McCarthy, 2010).
After reading a report, Bell discovers that it is Chigurh who is murdering people using a bolt pistol and a shotgun. After arriving in Eagle Pass, Moss rents a room at Eagles hotel where he is shot by Chigurh twice from a distance, missed, he falls but manages to get up and run. There is a shoot-out between rival dealers and Chigurh.
Moss travels to a bridge located in the Mexican border, where a drunken partier sells him an overcoat. Moss hides the briefcase filled with money in a reed like grasses growing at the edge of a river on the American side, after which he seeks medical help from the Mexican side. After getting his right leg wounded by a gun, he leaves the hotel, and he walks through Del Rio shooting at passersby and killing them at times, forcing some to look into his eyes as he kills them.
