Girl Scout of United States of America

Juliette Gordon Low was an American woman who grew in savannah, and she used to visit England from time to time. She came to know Baden-Powell, and she was pleased with his work. She went back to savannah with Baden-Powell’s copy of the scouting manual, which she used as his guide. Juliette was looking for a way to help most girls discover their roles, responsibilities and potentials. She then found it wise to start a certain group of girls’ scouts of the united states of America in her own hometown. The group grew throughout the 20^th century, attracting more members who became interested in joining the group. In the year 1927, Juliette Gordon died, leaving the group with over 100, 000 Girl Scouts in the United States. Her death led to the group having a different person as their leader, who made many changes in the group. Changes that were made included the introduction of new programs for girls in kindergarten by the Girl Scouts. Women were also given the right to vote, which was not the case before the introduction of the Girl Scout program.

After the death of Juliette Low, Kathy Cloninger acted as the new CEO of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. In the federated structure, the national office is the one that gives services to the local councils. The direction and the overall policy is determined by the national council of more than 1700 elected delegates. According to Sarah Murray, the federated structure has some advantages. The advantages include; offering of permission to local programs to throwback to the cultures and the needs of their various areas and local independence attracts devoted participants. It also established a decentralized culture among the Girl scout organization. If the federation structure could be eliminated, all these advantages it offered couldn’t be experienced. The federation structure has some disadvantages, which include the irregular quality and extravagancies resulting from duplicating some functions. Implementing a new approach by the CEO would avoid all the issues that arose in the federation structure, including creating a new relationship between the councils and the national office since they appointed a new chief customer in the national office.

The Girl Scout organization led by Kathy Cloninger launched a new and most recent marketing campaign, which is referred to as G.I.R.L, which is the Agenda spearheaded by the Girl Scout organization. The organization faced some new competition from other organizations, including the Boy Scout organization, so the Girl Scout organization had to move to various places to strengthen its brand and accentuate its distinctive capabilities. This could help it to be seen as the most qualified organization and the preferable organization.  It was launched at a certain event with various celebrity individuals. This most recent marketing campaign known as G.I.R.L stands for “go-getter, innovator, risk-taker, leader” (Worth & Michael 886). The Girl Scout organization joined hands with the MeToo campaign, and they had common agendas of speaking out against the violation of girl’s rights, sexual harassment, and harassing girls and women in society. As a result, new fields were introduced, and they included space science and cybersecurity, which were to help many girls. They implemented a new partnership with NASA and many other organizations. They launched many fundraising initiatives to make these new efforts push through.

According to my prospect, this new campaign of the Girl Scout organization is going to fully succeed since its purpose is to strengthen the girl child and also put their priorities first in society. Since people volunteered for the fundraising of this project, it would probably be supported by many people leading to its success. The Girl Scout organization attracted many women and girls, which led to a larger number, thus making this campaign a success. The campaign can be improved by inviting many other organizations to join them so that it could be easy to attract different people from various areas. Improvement of this campaign can also be made by creating good relationships with other scout organizations, including the Boy Scout organization in the United States of America.

The Girl Scout organization of the United States of America has enabled many girls and women in that area to know their potentials. They have also known their roles and responsibilities in society from this organization. The organization has also influenced the construction of various field which have been put forward in helping the girl grow academically, which was not the case back then. This organization in the United States of America has influenced many other countries to put the basic need of a girl as first priorities. The presence of this organization in the United States of America has led to its development, especially in the economic sector. From its most recent campaign ‘G.I.R.L,’ it has educated girls and women on various leadership skills and business skills so that they can be able to depend on themselves financially. The leadership skills being taught enables the girl to spearhead different projects which turn out to be successful.
