Nutrition and Body Fitness
There is always a connection between a good nutritional intake and a healthy body. Body fitness can be defined as the ability of a human body to be healthy and functioning as expected. The human body requires adequate nutrient intake to maintain proper functionality. The functionalities include tissue development and fight against diseases. Body fitness is an attempt by an individual to stay in good health. In the absence of proper nutrition, body fitness can be a hard task to undertake. The importance of adequate nutrition and maintaining body fitness are diverse, and most of the times the importance vary according to individuals.
First importance of proper nutrition and body fitness is to remain healthy. When the human body is physically fit, an individual is able to take the required nutrients efficiently and will develop critical disease-fighting mechanisms. Several researchers have admitted that there is a direct relationship between nutrition intake and body fitness. According to (Wilmore, 2011) a physically fit individual has a physiological judgment and thus will be keen on maintaining a proper diet. On the other hand, adequate nutrition will ensure efficient tissue growth and hence a fit body.
The other importance of nutrition and fitness is that it supplements medical needs. Individuals living with certain medical conditions are advised to take special nutrition and body fitness programs. For example, individuals living with AIDS require appropriate nutrition intake and body fitness programs to ensure proper functioning of drugs. Proper diet and physically fit body will reduce the requirement for extra medication and could act to reduce the cost of medication. According to (Chen, 2017), the intake of drugs and the effectiveness of medication is significantly affected by body fitness.
Also, individuals who do high energy-requiring activities are direct beneficiaries of nutrition and body fitness. The performance of individuals depends on the energy that their bodies can provide before activity and the rate at which the bodies can replace the already used energy. Players, for example, require high amounts of energy as well as physically fit bodies. Also, the players are susceptible to frequent injuries in a situation that means that their bodies require high tissue development mechanisms. The ability of a player to develop new tissues faster ensures that a player recovers from injuries quicker and thus more playing time and increased performance.
The other importance of nutrition and body fitness is seen in children since children’s bodies tend to experience fast growth rate and a high nutrition requirement. The growth of new organs requires a high nutrition intake. Also, children are very active and occasionally sustain injuries that need high nutrients for recovery. The high nutrition requirement depends on proper nutrition and body fitness.
It is worth noting that proper nutrition is not just a matter of taking combinations of foods in an attempt to fill the stomach. Body fitness is also not a matter of protruding muscles or body thickness. Proper nutrition and body fitness are based on the ability to perform the required functions that include disease fighting and tissue development. The relationship between body fitness and proper nutrition cannot be ignored since they both act in support for one another.
