Leadership is the process where an executive imaginatively leads, guides, and influences the work of other individuals in choosing and attaining set targets by mediating between an organization and individuals using methods that maximize satisfaction. Good leaders possess unique characteristics that make them stand out from the rest. Effective leadership will depend on an individual’s determination and drive, Cognitive capacity, integrity, sociability, competence, and self-confidence.

Leaders perform various tasks, and they set directions for others using multiple management skills to guide their subordinates in the right direction in an effective, efficient way (Dewan and Squintani, 2018).  They create inspiring visions for the future; they inspire and motivate people to engage with the concept, leaders manage how the concept will be handled most importantly, they build and coach teams. This is a more effective way of achieving a set vision (Laureani and Anthony, 2017). Leaders must be aware of your subordinate’s assets and skills to formulate essential strategies that will bring out the best in each one of them. Leaders also have to recognize what is effectively and efficiently working so that they can either keep using them or improve on the strategy.

Leaders behave in different ways unique to each individual. They have the drive and a high determination to often produces results as they tend to be very ambitious and wholeheartedly pursue their goals, they take the initiative are full of perseverance, they are assertive, energetic and often dominant over other individuals (Dewan and Squintani, 2018). Determination is what separates effective leadership as to where most people give up; a good leader keeps going, thus motivating other individuals.  Cognitive capacity. Cognitive capacity is when a leader possesses a skill set such as intelligence, sober judgment, flexibility in their behavior, developed verbal and analytical ability (Laureani and Anthony, 2017). Leaders who possess this trait to stand out as they can work very well under adverse conditions or deadlines. They are quick in recognizing patterns or problems, and they formulate resolutions to severe difficulties, create elaborate plans for the future, and are very dynamic as they adapt to the ever-changing circumstances.

Leaders are different from other people in many different ways, and they have to be modified to stand out. Leaders usually take their actions and are always ready to choose for any consequences, they take the blame for any let-down, and they use that as learning curves (Goodwin, 2019). Leaders tend to make other individuals feel valued, and they create more leaders and not followers. They encourage and inspire others to become the best versions of themselves. A leader whose integrity and ethical values are high ought to add more excellent benefit to an organization as morale among the employees will be high; thus, excellent employee retention.

Leaders focus on different things at different times, depending on what project is being undertaken. Some focus more on management than leading, more on long term growth, some focus on creating and developing other leaders. It’s worth illustrating that some leaders focus on Transactional leadership, imposing from the topmost position; others focus on the task rather than the result (Laureani and Anthony, 2017). All this depends on the objectives set and the time required for success to be achieved

In conclusion, leaders tend to have the drive and high determination, this often produces results as they tend to be very ambitious and wholeheartedly pursue their goals, they take the initiative are full of perseverance, they are assertive, energetic and often dominant over other individuals (Dewan and Squintani, 2018). Cognitive capacity is when a leader possesses a skill set such as intelligence, sober judgment, flexibility in their behavior, developed verbal and analytical ability. It’s important to note that integrity is the deep commitment to always do the right things at the right time for the right reasons regardless of the situation by consistently using and showing strong moral principles when executing given objectives (Ketcham, 2017). Leaders who are principled, trustworthy, truthful, dependable, consistent, loyal, and candid often share these traits with their supporters and are said to keep their words. They solve issues using diplomatic strategies, and they can adapt their social identity to the situation at hand (Anthony, 2017).
