Throughout the course, I have learned and acquired critical knowledge regarding finding credible sources to use in my assignments and annotated bibliography. I have learned how to determine if a source is credible or not. When it comes to assessing the credibility of academic sources, various factors must be considered. Firstly, a credible source contains materials published less than ten years (Yancey, 2016). This indicated that materials in the source are updated. Secondly, the authors of the research materials or articles must be well-known as well as respected (Yancey, 2016). A research article without an author is considered incredible and should not be used in an annotated bibliography or when writing research work.
Also, a source is considered credible if it involves websites registered under educational together with government institutions such as edu and gov. also important, Google Scholar contains credible sources (Yancey, 2016). In my annotated bibliography, I have been using Google Scholar. This is have helped me write an excellent annotated bibliography. Before learning these tips, I was struggling with finding credible sources when writing assignments such as research papers and annotated bibliographies. Since we learned how to find and determine the credibility of sources and material in this course, I have demonstrated great improvements in my grades.
The tips I have acquired concerning finding and using credible sources has greatly helped me in my studies. I recommend these tips for my classmates to consider utilizing them in their academic research. By doing this, they will see great improvement in their studies (Yancey, 2016). They should learn to differentiate between credible and incredible sources. The best credible sources to use in research include Google Scholar, Oxford Academic, Microsoft, JSTOR, and so forth (Yancey, 2016). The knowledge I have acquired in the course can help me in my future research.
