Scientists and doctors argue that improper hydration could result in diseases related to the heart or other body functions. Proper hydration helps in speeding up human metabolism (Ganio, 2018). Drinking a lot of water helps in hydration as well as filling up an empty stomach making one feel full. This essay analyzes two articles on the impact of women on drinking more water.

1.1 Historical, Cultural and Political Perspective

Historically, water is believed to essential for the life of humans, birds, animals, and other creatures. For instance, during ancient times, there were no water channels as it is in modern times, and women could travel for long distances to look for water. Constipation has always been related to inadequate water consumption (LaRosa, et al., 2016). Additionally, women who suffered fatigue and frequent headaches were given a lot of water, which always relieved the pain. Political conflicts as well may occur from water shortage since competition rises from scarce resources. Water shortages, for instance, may lead to health problems, especially in women working on cutting weight since adequate consumption of water reduces calories.

1.2 Social, Physical and Economic Perspective

Women have realized and put into consideration on the importance of taking sufficient, pure, and clean water. Flavored water, for instance, is not always advocated by health authorities as it could lead to metabolic abnormalities in women (Alexander et al., 2016). Several people believe that the consumption of drinks such as tea or coffee replaces the importance of water in their bodies. For instance, during summer, women take a lot of water to replace the water they lose through sweat (McDonald, 2020). However, research shows that women who drink a lot of water live a healthier life. Economists measure the value of a commodity by its price. Water as a natural resource is measured in terms of its importance to human life.

1.3 Mental and Personal Perspective

Drinking water by females helps in maintaining a balanced body fluid since sixty percent of the body is composed of water. Adequate hydration helps the brain to work effectively (Hutton, & Chase, 2017). Pregnant women, for instance, transports nutrients to the fetus by the blood, composed of water. Improper hydration of expectant women contributes to mental issues both to the mother and the fetus.

2.0 Behaviors and Attitudes Associated with Low Drinking Water Intake

2.1 Historical, Cultural and Political Perspective

Ancient cultures held on to myths regarding the importance of consumption of water. Religious leaders also expressed the importance of water consumption during various ancient cults. For instance, women after childbirth were advised to take a lot of water to help in replacing the blood lost (Goodman et al., 2013). It also helps to prevent constipation both to the mother and the newborn. Health authorities recommend that women should take at least two and a half liters of water. Additionally, water shortages affect sanitation, which could lead to health issues, which thus, political leaders are obliged to enhance adequate sanitation.

2.2 Social, Physical and Economic Perspective

The early Greek philosophical thinkers are precise on why women should take pure water rather than beverages as they could lead to obesity (LaRosa et al., 2016). They argue that the amount of water in food and drinks can never be enough to hydrate the female’s body efficiently. World Bank’s reports on increased female mortality rates could be managed by improved medical care, clean water, and better medical care. It also argues that clean water could also reduce child mortality rates.

2.3. Mental and Personal Perspective

The level of a woman’s physical activity depends on how much water she takes. Inadequate water supply has health impacts on women as it could lead to kidney stones. It also limits the productivity and maintenance of women’s hygiene (Goodman et al., 2013). For instance, during the menstrual cycle, women need to drink lots of water for their body to function appropriately.

In conclusion, the female body needs a lot of water for it to function effectively and to avoid diseases related to hygiene. Supply and access to clean water are very vital in empowering a woman. The amount of water a woman takes contributes a lot towards her behaviors and changes in attitude as well.
