One of the shrines of Nainital which sees thousands of devotees every year, Pashan Devi temple accommodates one of the nine representations of Goddess Durga. Sattal Lake

Mukteshwar is a small town situated around 50 kilometres from Nainital. The city derives its name from the belief that Lord Shiva defeated a demon here and gave him Mukti or salvation. The city also accommodates a 350-year-old temple called Mukteshwar Dham. Mukteshwar is most famous for trekking along with rock climbing and rappelling. The place offers scenic orchards, lush green forests, and cottages built in colonial style. Khurpatal Lake

Khurpatal lake is one of the best scenic locations in Nainital with peaceful environment. Located around 10 kilometres away from Nainital, Khruptal houses a lake surrounded by lofty pines and old cedar trees, all of which collectively offer one of the most breathtaking scenery. Khurpatal is located at the height of 5600 feet from sea level, which means the place offers moderate temperature even during summers.

Sariyatal

Sariyatal is an artificial lake constructed primarily for tourist attraction and located near Kaladhungi. The lake offers many leisure activities such as paddling and water sports. Sariyatal is also famous for the Himalayan Botanical Garden, a centre for the scientists and botanists which is also open for visitors. The Botanical Garden is situated on the lakeside and features a butterfly park, library, herbarium, fermery, and an auditorium.

Sariyatal is located 12 kilometres away from Khurpatal and only 8 kilometres away from Nainital bus stand. You can explore orchidarium, herbarium, thunia alba orchid, geodesic dome and waterfalls along with some of the rarest plant species at the Botanical Garden.

Naukuchiatal

Naukuchiatal is a small picturesque town situated under the shades of nature. The village is especially famous for its nine cornered lake which expands up to 1 kilometre in length and 40 meters in depth.

Located at some distance from Nainital hill station, Naukuchiatal is also attributed to a legend. It is said if one takes a glimpse of all the nine corners of the lake with their feet on the ground, they can disappear into the smoke and achieve Nirvana. The small town has pleasant weather all year round, which makes it one of the best places to visit on any given day.
