passion for pursuing a career in finance
For a long time, I have had a passion for pursuing a career in finance. Granted an opportunity to join the Merage MBA program, I would be a step away from achieving my goal in life. I look forward to joining the program and sit for the CFA level 1 exam in June. Given a chance, I will work hard to ensure that I excel in my studies. With determination, passion, and hard work, I believe that I will excel in CFA level 2 exams. While undertaking my graduate studies, I will seek enrollment into internship programs in banks or international organizations. My career goals upon graduation would be working as a risk management specialist or a finance analyst. Specifically, I would prefer working in international organizations, such as IFC and World Bank. I firmly believe that working in a global organization would enable me to gain the skills and knowledge that I would use to offer personal contributions beneficial to society. In the future, I hope to be a competent project manager.
Essay 2
With the advancement of technology, the digital environment is prone to disruption. Therefore, we must be prepared and prepare our businesses for any eventualities. Since I would like to work as a finance analyst, risk management specialist, or a project manager, I understand that some of the emerging trends in the finance industry are mobile applications and cloud computing. Firstly, due to the rising demand for more information and the speed of conveying data, cloud computing is becoming more prevalent because it enhances organizational efficiency and agility in the finance realm. Secondly, mobile applications are increasingly becoming commonplace in finance, as they facilitate predictive analysis, data presentation, data architecture, and data analysis, among other functions.
The skills that I develop at Merage would greatly help me in navigating the trends in various ways. First, the Merage MBA program offers professional skills that are relevant in the digital economy. Secondly, the program provides students an opportunity to learn new and current trends through practical studies. Although it is not possible to learn all the skills in the finance industry, Merage proves to students that it is possible to learn new skills continually. I understand that the skills I learn during the program would not entirely help me to navigate the inherent changes in the digital economy. Therefore, to remain relevant and ought to demonstrate the capacity and willingness to learn continually.
Previously, I have worked at the China Minsheng Banking Corp. Ltd and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOP) as an intern analyst and operations intern, respectively. Having worked in different organizations and acquiring diverse skills from the Merage MBA program, I will have experienced various challenges facing the finance industry. Additionally, I will have learned how to anticipate changes in technology and how to handle the changes. Merage uses current technologies while preparing students for the business world. The skills I learn from the program would form a basis for further research. I would use the knowledge that I have to study more on emerging mobile applications and cloud computing expertise. Thus, I will be able to enhance my understanding of user experience, usability, recoverability, accessibility, and security.
With the skills I acquire from the program and the use of emerging technologies, I will work in collaboration with other professionals in finance to develop a flexible nature. Financial analysts have to be agile and perform tasks with high speed to enable them to predict future occurrences. Working alone would, therefore, be less productive, as several people may have different ideas that may improve a person’s skills. While working as a financial analyst, I would focus more on collaboration management, communication, and transformative change. To prepare my business from inherent disruption, I would ensure that I spend more time and resources installing, training, and learning new technologies and skills in finance. Employers like employees who embrace change and are digitally driven. I believe that the technology used in the Merage MBA program would add value to a future employer because I would be conversant with internal operations of finance organizational structures.
