Peer rejection is one of the major stressful life events leading to adverse outcomes as a result of feelings of loneliness and failure to bond with social institutions more so school. Years later, after post-secondary education, learners that were prone to peer-rejection may develop difficulties in their new academic or work jurisdictions due to unique behavioral traits acquired under peer rejection. Learners that are rejected by their peers potentially become less integrated into the norms of social institutions (schools), consequently exerting them at risk for subsequent academic and behavioral difficulties. Evidence suggests peer rejection plays a crucial role in the pathway between academic challenges and problem behaviors. Fite et al., 2012 (cited on Fite et al., (2013) discovered peer rejection justified the linkage between rule-breaking reputation and academic difficulties. Reactive aggression and other adverse outcomes such as depressive symptoms and substance abuse are consistently associated with peer rejection in scholarly literature. This work intends to debate on the question, “In what ways does Peer Rejection Impact a Post-Secondary Students’ Academic Outcomes in Post-Secondary Education?”

• First Issue: Peer Rejection as a Serious Challenge Negatively influencing Academic Excellence and Behavioral OutcomesThere is a close relationship between aggressive behavior and poor academic performances in learners under the prevailing condition of peer rejection.

As articulated in the above issues, peer rejection equally constitutes a significant impact on a rejected person’s developmental pathways,, especially in the construction of meaningful social relationships.
