Learners that are rejected by their peers potentially become less integrated into the norms of social institutions (schools), consequently exerting them at risk for subsequent academic and behavioral difficulties. Evidence suggests peer rejection plays a crucial role in the pathway between academic challenges and problem behaviors. Fite et al., 2012 (cited on Fite et al., (2013) discovered peer rejection justified the linkage between rule-breaking reputation and academic difficulties. Reactive aggression and other adverse outcomes such as depressive symptoms and substance abuse are consistently associated with peer rejection in scholarly literature. This work intends to debate on the question, “In what ways does Peer Rejection Impact a Post-Secondary Students’ Academic Outcomes in Post-Secondary Education?”
