Introduction

Nursing is one of the many exciting courses a student can pursue in any higher learning institution. Nursing is all about the compassion of the patient. Other than just helping one to learn about the interesting criteria to save lives, it also incorporates other measures, such as providing comfort to the needy in our community. Nursing is indeed one of the many satisfying jobs which make a difference in people’s lives. Moreover, as characters such as Val Sainsbury once stated, “Nurses dispense comfort, compassion and caring without even prescription (Duarte, Joana, and José Pinto-Gouveia, 45).” The goal of this essay is to describe who I am in person, the person I hope to become, and how furthering my education will help achieve my goals.

Well, someone might be wondering why I had to incorporate nursing in my introductory part, no need to worry or question a lot as nursing is the course I pursue in my institution. To begin with, I am a determined, pragmatic, and agile individual who possesses good communication skills, not only verbal but also written skills. I have since time young age focused on the development of my community, which I consider a priority. Touching lives, building a mutual relationship with anyone I can across is also a priority to me. Additionally, guiding and counseling young women and girls in my community on the importance of better well-being, reproductive, and sexual rights awareness has always rung in my mind. I am one person who believes in the nudge to give back to the community. I do not believe in receiving but rather giving.

Besides that, I am an individual who possesses additional skills other than pursuing nursing in my institution. I have additional skills that help me serve my community excellently, such as observation, leadership, reporting, listening, time-management, and confidentiality skills. Empowering the community has often been one of my primary concerns, and I think it is only through nursing skills, among other additional skills that can help me reach out to the world. Most of the time I love traveling to different parts of the community with concern in healthcare, and whenever an emergency occurs that requires nursing applications, then I try to fit in by helping regardless of the difficulties associated with it.

In the near future, which I keep pocketing myself all along and the condition is so strong that I even dream about it every time, I look forward to becoming one of the most remarkable heroes in the field of Nursing. To be remembered positively, just like Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa, among other personnel whose serving roles to the community is admirable. I just cannot get enough of their serving nurture. The two, among others, have been my role model, for I want to be recalled on the role I played one I go to the other world. That I served my community; I lived by them and just like them. To incorporate charity in my endeavors, strove to make the lives of those around me peaceful and always full of love.

To me, nursing is a call and, I only believe through it then, I can hear the voices of most patients both in and outpatients who are affected by the different diseases that need to be cured.

On the other hand, to fit into the competitive nursing industry, I wish to further my professional skills to serve the community as a whole. I will, if given a chance through grace, pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing. This is important for I will not only meet the allocated treatment goals in my professionalism but also gain a path to the doctorate. Expanding my nursing skills will also generate a platform for me to become an educator. To educate my community and as a nurse educator, I hope to work with other institutions such as hospitals, universities, vocational schools, and nursing schools. As a nursing teacher, I will indeed impact on the knowledge of other nurses as I will indeed have a generation of other nurses in my line of duty.

In summary, Nurses, regardless of their responsibilities or roles such as working in the healthcare to provide a hand to hand care for the patient as well as managing administration medications for the patient, should remain loyal to the law of compassion. The law of compassion affirms to elective communication in their intravenous line of duty. Therefore, they should compassionately observe and monitor the patient’s situation by keeping records and communicating with doctors.
