Personal leadership theory
My leadership theory would be best suited in a place where people involved have high-standardized skills and experience. Collaboration is needed for collective effort to be effective. The collaboration of different individuals with variant skills and abilities helps in the accomplishment of various tasks. Therefore I believe my leadership theory suits a place where people who are involved can handle and complete the assigned tasks.
The results from the evaluation of my leadership theory are congruent with the results from the previous discussion on personal value appraisal. According to the results obtained from personal values appraisal, it is definite that the main stronghold of my leadership theory is offering services to fellow human beings through the utilization of the democratic process.
The other leader who has had a tremendous impact on my leadership belief apart from the one mention in Unit 5 is Barack Obama, the former president of the United States. Obama had a unique ability and charisma that could result in to hope among the people of the United States. His Charisma made him an exceptional leader whom I admire every day as my role model. From Obama’s leadership, it is clear that leadership is all about how willing the leader can share with the followers who work tirelessly to accomplish the assigned task.
The article that I found from my WSJ research is “Leadership in a Crisis-How to be a Leader” by Bill George. The article is highly relevant to my personal leadership theory because it portrays seven leadership lessons from the leaders who steer an organization even in the crisis moments (Bill George, 2017). The leaders still take the responsibility of accomplishing the tasks even under crisis.
In summary, my experience with leadership and leaders has taught me is that the essential aspect of leadership is for leaders to lead as examples. The leaders have the responsibility to work in collaboration with the followers, understand them, help them figure out the means to accomplish the task, and being innovative and creative for the future of an organization.
