Personal Statement for Law School
I want this personal statement to detail my experience with activism early on and talk about how that lead to me wanting to go to law school. This is what I want included: My experience with the Micheal Brown case is what inspired me to make changes to our criminal justice system. I was sprayed with tear gas and I was actually one of the peaceful protesters. When I attempted this paper myself I wanted to start off with something like.. “ When I first came to the University of Missouri, I wanted to be a journalist who exposes the injustices that are happening. I thought I’d do that by report on stories that no one really hears. Ex: Little black girls that go missing. Simply because I was inspired by the Mike Brown case to make a difference. But shortly after arriving at the University of Missouri I realized I wanted a more active role in helping improve our criminal justice system.
