This way, students will be able to reinforce their understanding of the course material and improve their performance. I will attain this learning goal through active learning. I learned that education is not just about sitting in class, listening to teachers, completing assignments, and giving out answers. Through active learning, I will be able to write about new ideas learned in class, relate them to my past experiences, and apply the new approaches to my daily lives (Zhou, 2017). I will strive to make what I learn in class part of me. I will use professional journals to expand the knowledge gained in the classroom.

  1. To gain insights about the unit’s key ideas.

I will attain this learning objective by seeking regular feedback on my performance from the instructor. Seeking regular feedback on my performance will help me assess my knowledge and competence. This way, the teacher will get the opportunity to provide suggestions for improvement. I will use the recommendations provided by the instructor to address my areas of weakness and capitalize on my areas of strength. I will monitor my progress on gaining insights about the primary steps of the planning processes by examining my performance on homework assignments and the random questions asked by the teacher in class.

  1. To understand the relationship between the unit’s key ideas and their applicability.

I will achieve this goal by establishing regular student-instructor contact. I will ensure that I develop a positive relationship with the instructor because knowing a few teachers always facilitate a student’s academic commitment, and it encourages them to think about their values and plans (Zhou, 2017). I will use this opportunity to ensure that I attain this goal to understand the relationship between planning and organizational objectives altogether (Certo & Certo, 2012). I will email my teacher whenever I have a question when the instructor is busy. Emailing the question will ensure that the teacher can provide a quick and detailed response. I will also visit the teacher’s office regularly to ask for assistance in areas that I do not understand and to ask for revision questions and materials.

  1. To gain knowledge about the different types of planning tools

I will be achieving this objective by working with other students. I will join various discussion groups to ensure that I get the opportunity to learn more about the different types of planning tools from my classmates (Certo & Certo, 2012). Working with fellow students always increases involvement in learning because it provides students with chances to share their ideas and to respond to other students’ reactions. This way, the students get to improve their thinking and deepen their understanding of the topic (Zhou, 2017). Discussion groups will enable me to increase my knowledge and improve my thinking because we will be able to discuss the unit’s critical ideas with people from diverse backgrounds.  In the discussion groups, we will give constructive feedback on each other’s’ works and explain challenging topics and ideas to each other.

I will ensure that I follow these strategies strictly so that I may be able to deepen my understanding of the unit and improve my performance. I will help other students set their learning goals and objectives and encourage them to work to attain them. I will collaborate with the teacher and other students to achieve positive results at the end of the semester.
