Players’ security
In the US, soccer has the highest number of international players with Major League Soccer accounting for over 48% of foreign players. The North American sport has the largest number of international owners, with Joseph Tsai being the biggest shareholder. Similarly, Virtual Reality gambling controls a huge amount on the international markets have experienced a 4.1% market growth since 2014. Surprisingly, international criminals have been coming to America, thus affecting critical sporting activities. For instance, the Russian Mob commands the National Hockey League as well in peewee teams. So, the criminal activities have developed weaknesses in other North American sports leading to the loss of America’s most promising stars. The NHL made one of the biggest mistakes by allowing Russian players to import foul extorts, which have deliberately destroyed sports in the US.
Moreover, weaknesses are evident due to the players’ insecurity in any sport they engage in while in America. The Russian Mob really decapitated sports in the US by thwarting cooperation between security personnel and the coaching staff. As such, we need to prevent the entry of mob individuals in America through their connections with people living in the US. Their entry leads to covering up criminal records against such groups in American sports, thus jeopardizing investigations by security agencies. Besides, organized crime has taken over gambling with the crime having dire repercussions on sports sustainability globally. The Russian mafias have increasingly utilized threats to scare law enforcement agencies.
I agree with Alexandrea that the involvement of the Russian Mob has unearthed weaknesses in North American sports. The Russian Mob has well-connected groups which seek to forcefully govern the sports through dubious and corrupt means. Also, I agree with the fact that stricter rules need to be made to prevent the Russian Mafias from interfering with sports.
I agree with Lara in that weaknesses are experienced while hiring security personnel having interconnected relationships. Hence, there is a possibility of the agencies turning a blind eye on sports, which would be severely chaotic. Besides, I agree that it is not right for a single person to entirely own a team due to the inability to make key decisions.
