post-apocalyptic America

Learning Paper It is the year 3020 in post-apocalyptic America where the ancient rules of the past (aka, the 21st century) no longer apply. Nonetheless, there is still school, still classes, and still expectations that you arrive on time. You are a student who regularly arrives on time for your English class and you watch as a large number of students continually arrive late for the class. It becomes clear that the English professor is bothered by their behavior. You decide to use the information that you have learned in your Psychology class to help your professor out by advising him or her about ways to reduce tardiness. You decide to write a formal paper outlining the most effective methods for enforcing and maintaining student behaviors. Remember, your English professor will not know anything about operant conditioning, so it is your responsibility to teach them. You want to impress your professor with your creative writing, so you decide to come up with the craziest, funniest, and most outlandish suggestions.[unique_solution] Anything you teach your English professor should be cited, using the book as your citation. As usual, no direct quotes are permitted. Integrate the following four questions into your course of action: Would you recommend that the professor punish students for being late or reinforce students for being on time? Why? If the professor decides to use punishment, what type of positive punishment could they employ? What type of negative punishment? If the professor decides to use reinforcement, what type of positive reinforcement could they use? What type of negative reinforcement would be effective for reinforcing timely attendance? Once students start coming to class on time, how do you recommend the professor make sure they continue to come on time? What type of schedule of reinforcement (continuous or partial) would be best to avoid either the extinction of the behavior or eventual ineffectiveness of the reinforcement? You can be as creative as you would like with this. It doesn′t have to be academic (extra credit, loss of points, etc.) but can be anything you want. I encourage you to be funny and creative- I have received papers where students who are late must stand in a vat of pudding for half the class. Paper Requirements: The paper must be written and formatted as such (question and answer will not be accepted and will earn you an automatic zero), a minimum of 750-words, Times New Roman 12-Point font, following the Paper Formatting Guide in D2L with proper citations. To receive full credit, all questions must be answered. Your paper must be in your own words, do not use any words from the website or you may get a 0 for plagiarism. There is an originality checker worked into DropBox, if you exceed 20% (and do not have a blue box) please revise and resubmit. Papers exceeding 20% will not be accepted.Your book is considered a source of material and therefore should be cited throughout your paper and in a devoted work cited page. The use of additional sources is encouraged and recommended, but they need to be academic in nature. For example, Wikipedia and VeryWell are not considered a legitimate sources. Papers must be submitted in .doc or .rtf file formats, through DropBox in D2L. I cannot read Pages or Works. You will need to make sure that your paper title does not have any special characters or it will not upload to DropBox properly. If your paper is not uploading to DropBox it needs to be emailed before the deadline for full credit. Please see 50-Point Paper Rubric for a more complex outline of expectations. Make sure that you have checked off ALL ITEMS on this list before submission: Have I answer all questions provided on the supplementary assignment sheet? Did I cite all sources (in-text citations & work cited page)? Have I made sure that I did not include any direct quotes or plagiarism? Does my paper meet the length (750-words) requirements? Is the paper formatted correctly according to the class standards?
