This principle is mainly applied in the valuation of the government works. The public believes if the policies of the government benefit the majority, then the policies good. The principle of Greatest Good should go hand in hand with the most significant number—for example, a case where the government came up with a health insurance policy in the United States. A large number of the United States lives above the poverty line and thus were able to health coverage policy. However, the few who live below the poverty line were not considered in the evaluation of the policies effectiveness. Thus, ignored. Therefore, the principle is determined by the usefulness of actions involved in regards to the number of people involved.
The principle of the greatest good is also applied in the education sector to evaluate the performance of students. It is considered that a class had an excellent performance if a large number of students performed above the average and a few of them below the average. Therefore, we can say that the morality of an action is determined from the end result or the goal. For instance, the effectiveness of the teacher or learning program is useful if the end result has a good impact on the larger population of students.

The principle of respect is primarily applied in respect of other people’s right in society. Respecting other people is ensuring that dignity is ensured. For example, adhering other people right to expression is ensuring one has the pride to allow other people to project their views and ideas. One situation where the principle of respect is highly applicable is in the hospitals. The doctors respect the patients’ opinion regarding how they want to be handled, what intervention they want or not take as well as respect for their personal details by keeping them confident. The principle of respect goes hand in hand with the golden rule, which states that do others what you want to be unto you.

In our societies, we have various types of relationship which include, marriage, the relation between husband and wife. This social relationship expresses the link between people of similar culture, teacher-students relation, and employer-employee relationship, among others. One common characteristic about relationship is that are boundaries which represent the nature of the connection.
Relationships are among the things are fulfil the needs of the human being in life. Relationship contributes to connection, growth, variety, certainty and significance. However, there are some rules that one need to keep in mind to keep the relationship healthy since unhealthy relations also have an impact on human life. One element that makes a relationship healthy is communication. An instance where the interaction between the parents and children consist of fear or lack of understanding, then the link is not fair. A good relationship has freedom and respect, while poor connection constitutes slavery and dictatorship. Thus, the association is made and broken every day in our communities.

A community can be defined and applied in many situations. A community consists of people who have similar values, goals and interest. A society may be used to describe a certain village, a specific company, a particular tribe, religion, country or the world. What holds a community together, for example, a society of Christian community is the principle of respect as well as relationship. A community cannot live with unity and harmony if honours for each other beliefs are upheld. For instance, the protestant churches should respect the views of the Catholic Church. Likewise, there should be good relationship within the Christian community where at some point; the different churches are given an opportunity to lead in prayers of the nation.
The purpose of the community is defining people who they are by explaining their origins. The gives every individual a sense of living of belonging and reason for living. The social community has essential purposes such as enhance service-oriented through enabling members to seek goals through communication and work practices. Also, the community install ethical and morals through ensuring integrity is improving in every aspect of daily living. Furthermore, the neighbourhood improves embracement of the diversity of every person, which fosters openness and productive environment, which in return produces respect and good relationship. Nevertheless, the city enhances other principles such as the principle of democracy, transparency, honesty, partnership, independence and cooperation.
The Principle of Character Growth
A character is an in-depth description of the personality of an individual depending on the four other principles described. The nature of a person can be based on the resultant of his/she action towards the majority people, the way he/she treats other people, the relationship with other people and the connectivity to the society. For example, a person of good character does good things that benefit other people around, treat others with respect, have a meaningful relationship with others and is highly considered as an amoral person in the community. In contrast, a person of bad character only does things that benefit him or the minority, pride, and have a fearful relationship with others and less considered in society.
The principle of character growth promotes core ethical values among the people in a society. A good character basis instils values such as honesty, respect for others, responsibility and fairness. The principles of character growth are highly applied in schools. More than a hundred schools have their motto as developing good virtue in students. If not exactly that, then the vision and goals of the institutions have something to do with honesty, responsibility, integrity, among other virtues. A school plays a significant role in character development as teachers act as the role model for the students. Not only teachers but also the relationship between school and community serves as an excellent example of a healthy relationship among the school members and the members of the society. The school teaches the learners that good characters get rewarded while the bad actors are punished respectively.
