Joy Johnson, in your presentation, you hold that the customization you made to the Career Planning Checklist, fits your career interest. It helps in refining your research, evaluation and the overall overlook of your career goals. The demonstration is evident that you understand how your specialization relates to your interests. That is useful in motivating you to commit to your responsibilities as a psychologist. Further, you also highlight what your future goals are. For example, you are categorical that after the doctoral program, you intend to join APA and ABAI. The two bodies will over you an opportunity to share, explore and access new knowledge. Most significantly, you are looking forward to being registered. However, you are aware of the requirements you must satisfy.
Further, in the discussion, you recognize the fact the content covered during this week’s activities, is essential in refining your professional identity. That will definitely advance your contribution to the line of specialization. Notably, it will be applause if you become a renowned advocate. By infiltrating through the relevant bodies, you hope that the community will allow you to contribute what you have gained meaningfully. In that regard, you will positively impact the community.

Julianna Piper, in your presentation, you confirm that there is a lot of work to do. That follows the information you collected from the career planning assessment and checklist. However, there are some little things you have done. By evaluating and identifying the areas you need to improve, you demonstrate how you will develop a personal development plan. That will help you improve on the areas you are not doing well. You are making process in networking. Also, you are a member of the National Council for families. Even though that is the case, you agree that some areas need to be refined. For example, you need to work more on writing a competitive CV.
Further, after self-assessment, you hold that you will have to research and identify professional groups in the field of psychology where you can be a member. It is worth noting that you have discovered yourself. There areas that your own initiatives. The changes you make in your career will help brand yourself and become a professional in your field. For instance, you observe that it is essential to advance your professional networking. That will help you learn by sharing your experiences with others.

Christopher Frankenfield, in your discussion, you explain that validating a survey involves examining several aspects. The issues to look out for during validation include nonresponse, item response, sampling errors, and adjusting probability. They affect the final results of a survey. For example, the way data is captured and entered influences the findings of a survey. The data coding and entry process, are prone the errors. The commitment of those errors affects the accuracy of the findings. Consequently, there will be questions about the validity of the survey findings. In that regard, it is necessary to put in place suitable data entry procedures. Anomalies have to be identified before making the data final (Olson, 2006).
Additionally, you the coding and entry errors can alter the statistics of a survey. For example, something simple like one missing row of data could perfectly mean the statistics are not reliable. Nevertheless, you identify strategies the errors can be mitigated or avoided where possible. Some of the strategies you identify are troubleshooting and re-testing of the data collection instruments. Where necessary, it is advisable to recruit a sample to involve in a prior test. That will help identify the possible sources of the errors listed (Brown, Kaiser & Allison, 2018).

Allison Drake, according to your presentation, the factors one needs to address when validating survey include adjusting nonresponse items not answered, different probabilities of selection and effects of the sample design in statistical calculations. These factors contribute to data coding and entry errors. Further, in your analysis, you point out the specific reasons why the errors occur. They are as a result of human mistakes, the flawed process of data entry, systems’ errors, and intentional errors. In line with that, you go a step further in explaining each of the causes of errors and the possible effects on the survey findings (Olson, 2006).
According to your observation, the errors ought to be investigated and prevented. If allowed to happen, they will cause irreversible inaccuracies in the findings. Alongside that, you recognize the reason why researchers should be concerned about the way they interpret the results. Nevertheless, those errors can be minimized using various strategies. The main one is re-testing the instruments one is using with a small sample. That helps identify possible areas where the errors are likely to happen. Consequently, more reliable tools will be used in the survey (Merten, 2004).

Raelyn Williams, your research article for review is “Horror, personality, and threat simulation: A survey on the psychology of scary media” by Clasen et al. (2018). The study hypothesized that humans watch horror movies because they innately stimulate threats. The major strengths you identify about the article is the size of the sample used. The researchers used a sample of 1070. It was large enough. In that regard, it was more representative and each to correct more accurate data. On the contrary, the study, as you identify had one significant weakness. It was unique in the sense that no similar study had been conducted before. Possibly, the study did not have enough literature to support the variables. It is also not easy to defend the gaps being explored (Clasen, Kjeldgaard-Christiansen & Johnson, 2018).
Additionally, the research was more of explorative. However, because of its uniqueness, the researchers must have experienced problems related to methodology and measure. Nevertheless, the research had another strength. That is the test and analysis tools used. It used the Pearson R, chi-squared to evaluate the relationship between the variable. Perhaps, in your presentation, you could have identified some of the changes you could have made in the study to make it more reliable and valid (Clasen, Kjeldgaard-Christiansen & Johnson, 2018).

Samm Van Doren, your article of analysis is “Can youths’ perceptions of the police be improved? Results of a school-based field evaluation in three jurisdictions” by Fine et al. (2019). The article is based on the premise that a positive youth development program will lead to a better perception of the law enforcement agencies. The article has specific strengths in its design. For example, you establish that the sample is drawn from different locations in the city of New York. That is a better approach as the sample represent diverse groups. Also, the sample inclines towards young children. It helps give a different opinion since no research in the past that have used that age. Despite that being the case, the study was weak on pretests and post-tests. The two could be linked (Fine, Padilla & Tapp, 2019).
Nevertheless, in your presentation, you reaffirm that the study, to a large extent, made several good decisions. The results could be generalized. However, you also identify issues that need to be improved or changed. They include the pretests and post-tests and the survey instrument. It was not clear if the researchers include the “no response” option in the survey. In general, your evaluation of the article provides an insight into the issue to consider when developing a research design.

Reggie Baity, recently you experienced a conflict with your co-teacher. You expected to iron some things to ensure that classroom environment worked for both of you. Both of you are teachers in the same class. However, your colleague tries to dominate. She expects you to focus only on issues related to class behaviours. The problem has persisted over time, even after approaching her to address the puzzle together. Both of you are on the same level. You have to work together to better the education of the learners. In response to that, you recognize the fact that several strategies can be used to solve the conflict. They are anchored in the dual-concerns model (King & Stevahn, 2013).
Firstly, you could choose to force your co-teacher to heed to your demands since you are equal members and the learners depend on both of you. Secondly, you consider using the strategy of withdrawing by giving up on personal goals and interests. The other strategies you identify and are appropriate in solving the conflict, include smoothing, compromising and problem-solving. By highlighting the strategies, you demonstrate to the colleagues the options they can consider when faced with conflict during practice (King & Stevahn, 2013).

Ginna Green, you explain that the concerns model identifies the specific ways one should react towards a conflict. To show how the strategies in the model can be deployed, you give a conflict situation involving you and your husband. That happened when you were doing your discussion. You could not agree on how to deal with your son on issues related to discipline. Even though the conflict was not a professional one, you are specific that it has to be solved for the betterment of your child. The model, in this case, provides five strategies to use and you consider suitable for the case.
The strategies you identify and consider using to solve the conflict between you and your husband, include forcing, smoothing, withdrawing, compromising and problem-solving. In each case, you make a great effort to explain what each strategy entails. Also, you give specific examples of how each of the strategies could be used to solve the problem. In so doing, you enable a graduate to explore and apply a strategy that fits a particular conflict. That will result in a situation where the parties in a conflict settle for what impacts their work positively (King & Stevahn, 2013).

Reggie Baity, you describe program evaluation as a process of used to collect and analyze information. That is to guide the making of certain decisions about a program. The outcomes should improve the quality of the program. You also explain that it can be used as a tool to help a program remain sustainable. Further, in future practice, as a psychologist, you believe that you experience situations where staff will feel threatened with your role as an evaluator. That will be a source of conflict and may have a negative effect on the implementation of the evaluation exercise. Nevertheless, conflicts can be solved or minimized (King & Stevahn, 2013).
One of the approaches you intend to use is educating the program staff about the importance of conducting a program evaluation. In so doing, you will assure them that the intention of the evaluation is not to put extreme measures in place. Possibly, they will understand and see the sense of supporting the exercise as it can also identify strategies to use to improve their performance. Further, one thing you will have to explain is about the security of their jobs. Possibly, in so doing, they will choose to comply with the program evaluation procedures.
