Psychology Assignment
Your assignment must be typed and double-spaced and should be uploaded to Blackboard via Safe Assign. Please do not email the assignment to me. I also do not need a paper copy of your assignment. Make your font size 12 and use “normal” margins.
Write a 3-4-page report properly structured with an introduction, body, and conclusion. Please keep it within 4 pages. Marks will be deducted for papers that are too long (as this keeps me from marking the papers in a timely fashion)[unique_solution]
The Assignment
In our first class of the semester, we discussed the use of the scientific method in the study of Personality Psychology. Assignment 1 is an opportunity to explore Personality research using the scientific method by reviewing an article from the Journal of Personality (available in the Seneca Library online database). Your task is to find an article in this journal that interests you. This article should include at least one study. Once you have done so, write a 3-page paper that does the following:
- Summarizes the study (ies) including its theoretical framework, hypothesis, description of the methods used, operational definitions, and main findings.
- Discusses any real-world applications or implications of the findings? How may the findings be useful? Does it contribute to our understanding of personality?
- Reflect on the study. What do you consider its strengths? Weaknesses?
- Science is an interactive process. What new questions do the results of this study raise?
Please provide a full reference (in APA format) to the article you have selected. Also, copy and paste the article abstract into your submission (this does not count towards the 3-4-page count).
Additional Requirements
- have an introduction with thesis statement, body paragraphs with key points and supporting points, and a conclusion re-capping what you covered in your paper
- remember to define your terms
- give adequate explanation of concepts
- give examples (e.g., real life examples)
- cite your sources using citation guidelines (use in-text citation for quotes and paraphrased sections and a works cited page at end of report) (APA style)
