Rating myself
There are different ways in which marking can be done. There are various methods I would have employed to rate myself. Apart from the chart, I would have rated myself based on accuracy and originality.
I would have checked the whole paper, and rate myself depending on the grammatical and punctuation errors I get. I would have taken enough time to proofread the work and highlight any mistakes that I made on grammar. I would also highlight all the areas I punctuated incorrectly. If grammar and punctuation mistakes were too many, I would have rated myself below average. However, if I found average errors, I would have rated my work as average. Lastly, few or no mistakes, I would have considered the work to be excellent.
The other way I would have rated myself was to check the originality of my work. Sometimes one may copy another person’s work unknowing or share similar common words. I would check my whole paper to ensure that any copied or paraphrased sentences are correctly cited. I would use recheck the materials used to ensure there is no similarity apart from using Turnitin. If there are some areas plagiarized, I will rate myself depending on the level of plagiarism. However, some degree of plagiarism is unavoidable. I would only concentrate on areas I can change to ensure that the work is entirely not plagiarized.
In conclusion, checking grammar, punctuation as well as plagiarism would help me rate myself further. Even if the content is perfect, it is always right to check primary issues such as accuracy to make the paper more successful. Therefore, the two would help me understand my performance and focus on improving in the future.
