Introduction

The focus of the qualities of effectiveness in teaching is a whole round activity that does not only consider teachers’ dispositions but every person who seeks to bring to the classroom unique ideas, aspirations, motivation, and knowledge. Such people are considered to be teachers regardless of their professional alignment. However, various people, scholars, and researchers have brought different approaches of assessing effectiveness in teaching as reflected in this paper.

Reflection to the chapters

The mini lessons that I have conducted shows that my strength lies there. Among the behavior that justifies my effectiveness is integration of speaking, reading, and listening in just one lesson (Stronge, 2018). I find it convenient to start the lesson with reading so as to grasp the attention of the learners and assess their ability to comprehend the content. Listening being the second helps in evaluating their comprehension and coherence in the establishing the content of the topic (Stronge, 2018). Speaking comes last after thorough evaluation of what learners require to facilitate grasping of the topic’s content. This also enables me to use an appropriate language that suits their capability to grasp the topic’s content.

Regarding the helping behavior, I believe it is effective to use the ideas and contributions from the students. For example, students have different comprehension skills and will interpret the questions differently and come up with different solutions (Stronge, 2018). When this is done, teachers become aware of the common problems and solutions to various academic issues; hence, incorporate their knowledge in deriving the best approach that suits them all.

I have learned that teachers having great knowledge regarding the subject matter as well as having a great verbal ability deliver well with respect to their respective topic of mastery than their contrary counterparts. Their ability to pass a knowledge in a rigorous and effective way is outstanding. I can relate this case to a favorite teacher who guided me in English translation techniques; particularly to Chinese language. Her mastery of the language made me grasp the content of her lessons in an easy way. Her lesson plans for the same was outstanding. Also, the abundance of knowledge in her concerning the topic was indisputable.

I can also attest that cultural competence is a significant elements when it comes to teaching profession. Firstly, it allows teachers to be observing the situations in the learning environment in a holistic manner while concurrently developing an in-depth differentiation with respect to learning activities (Kaya, 2014). Secondly, having cultural background helps the teachers to become responsive to the cultural provisions of their respective learners, hence, facilitating an ample environment for learning. Therefore, teachers should have sufficient knowledge in cultural provisions in the environment where they are depended upon to pass knowledge.

I can relate a professional frame with the knowledge that a teacher has as far as his professionalism is concerned. Therefore, from my perspective, a professional frame is a component of teacher knowledge particularly when a teacher is making a progress to further understand how complex the teaching profession is compared to other easier professions. Usually, a bucket made higher would hold more content than its lowly built counterpart (Kaya, 2014). Such scenario can be related to a teacher’s ability to pass more knowledge in a more effective manner; those who have strived to gain more knowledge in relation to their professions and other societal aspects are likely to be more effective.

Conclusion

Teaching profession is surrounded by various issues which can be perceived differently by different people. Culturally, I believe that teachers should be conversant with various cultural provisions since there are all round professionals. I also believe that teachers should know the helping behaviors to help them to effectively reach learners with different comprehension capabilities. There is also need to strive for more knowledge since this is what determines the effectiveness that a teacher have when passing knowledge to the learners.
