I use the technique of walking my dog and partnering with a friend who loves to do the same every evening as a part of relaxation and coping with stressful days. I prefer going through the park as the sun sinks and darkness starts making every object appear alive. The birds, wild animals and my dog strolling unleashed in the park give me the feeling of natural abundance and I forget the stressors. In addition to loving animals, I love sitting next to the fountains in the park and experiencing the soothing sounds of water splashing. These combinations that offer a sense of natural environment allow me to reset my mind and cope with stress in a sober mind. Furthermore, I keep my focus on the good aspects of life, and I strive to avoid remembering the bad ones.

Three Good Things

Volunteer Programs – I joined a volunteer program that allows me to interact with different people and make an impact on other people’s lives.

Physical exercises – I have managed to pair up with a friend to be attending gym lessons every evening for thirty minutes of physical activities.

Choice of diet – I came across information that the sugar in foods and beverages can trigger stress, and I have made deliberate efforts to eat healthily and avoid caffeine and nicotine.

Practice to Try

My next move will be to take a shot at counselling. I will find someone who can be a role model and talk to them about challenges that have been affecting me. I will ensure that I confide entirely in the person.
