Research question

What role does employee training at UNISOA play in improving their performance?

Hypothesis

Literature review

The UNISOA workforce output capabilities depend on how well they own the right skills regarding the task before them. Therefore, training the organization’s employees is one way to prepare them to deliver on its expectations. Research identifies training as one effective way of motivating and cultivating commitment from their employees since the approach gives them the right knowledge to deal with work-related challenges. The staff is well placed to perform over and above the organizations, expectations because they know the organizations place their interests first. The approach will go a long way in boosting the UNISOAs productivity since employees would wish to put their best foot forward to see the organization succeed as their future depends on the same. The staff is in a position to develop the sense of identity with the firm, and as such, they would work hard to ensure the firm achieves its objectives (Angela, 2014). Acquisition of new knowledge would be instrumental in the organization towards attaining value innovation since the approach facilitates innovativeness, and in the event, ensure competitive advantage.

Employee training programs play a key role in workforce retention, and creativity on the part of employees. Training employees give them the impetus to want to work with the organization for as long as possible. Employees would feel at home, and as such, they would not see the need to move to a new firm. Employee turnover has a negative effect on the organization would lose talent to rivals. Such aspect would lead to loss of competitive advantage. Senior employees who are well versed with the right skills would delve into the creation of collaborative approach where they would help staff in lower levels to achieve their responsibilities in a better and efficient manner (Angela, 2014). Effective training programs help UNISOA employees to save time in all their approaches.

Method

Sample and sampling design

The sample size will encompass 114 staff members working for United Nations Support Office for The African Union Mission in Somali. The participants would be selected randomly depending on ease of accessibility.

Sampling design

The sample size of the study would engage 114 officials working with UNSOA as per the data from human resource department. Stratified random sampling would be used to sample target population since it allows for adequate comparison between groups (Angela, 2014).   The sample size was representative in the sense that it utilized 30 percent of the 114 employees as per the requirements of any sample size below 1000. The research engaged employees in three categories, that is, top and middle-level management, and staff members not operating on management level

Data Collection methods

A questionnaire would be used to collect data where individuals will be given time to interact with the same and collection of the filled questionnaires done later. All participants would be exposed to the same questions to ensure standard information from the respondents. The approach would be critical in the collection of opinions from samples in their natural environment

A pre-test process would be done on the questionnaire to detect any weaknesses regarding the research design. The pre-test procedure will be carried out on five respondents who were excluded from the final survey to avoid survey.

Data Analysis

The SSPS would be used as the appropriate statistical method for data analysis. The analysis took shape through establishing of variance, frequencies and means and bivariate analysis. The approach would be critical to establish a relationship between variables.

Conclusion

The research would establish whether employee training in UNISOA would facilitate employee engagement by determining whether staff at all levels would be in a position to take new tasks after training. Further, the research would seek to determine whether top management employees would help employees in the lower level of employment to accomplish their tasks after they had training. Innovation and performance would also be subject to analysis to understand how training would affect the same. Last and not the least, the research would seek to establish whether employee’s morale would be high after training. The research would seek to see whether the hypothesis would test positive, and in any case, if the research problem would be answered.
