The specific topic for the research report is about the use of social media by children and adolescents. There is no doubt that the increased rate of technological revolution has resulted in increased use of social media among children and adolescents because they can afford mobile phones and computers. Increased competition and drive for business moguls have led to the diversification of social media platforms, which include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Whatsapp. Additionally, the United States is a developed country; hence parents can afford to buy mobile phones and computers. The majority of the children and adolescents have created accounts on either of the social media platforms.
Question 2
I am arguing about the negative effects of social media use on children and adolescents. The use of social media has resulted in negative impacts on children and adolescents, which include bringing social problems, isolation, and destruction of effective interactions. Social problems that children and adolescents may experience as a result of using social media include sexting, cyberbullying, isolation, destruction of effective interactions, mental health problems, Facebook depression, and addiction.

My paper is for parents and guardians of children and adolescents. Parents and guardians provide guidance, care, and protection to the above group. Hence they should be responsible for what is affecting their children and adolescents. The parents and guardians should ensure that children and adolescents do not become social media addicts, and this can be achieved by ensuring that mobile phones and computers are kept in common places where the parents can track their usage by the children. Parents and guardians should also keep on enlightening their children and adolescent on the negative effects of using social media platforms. Additionally, parents and guardians should follow the online accounts of the children and inform them that they are monitoring them for their safety, even though some bright children and adolescents may create fake accounts for their guardians and parents to follow. Moreover, parents and guardians should keep on asking their children and adolescents the types of people they interact with online. By showing genuine concern, the children will be open to sharing such details, and the parents should inform them that some people in social media may pretend to be persons they are not.

I am an advocate because I care for the health and the future of children and adolescents. Children and adolescents are the future parents and guardians, and bringing them up in responsible ways will also help them in raising their children. Also, children and adolescents are the future leaders of any country, and if they ruin their lives at tender ages, the future of various countries may be in a dilemma. Therefore, controlling the use of social media by children and adolescents is of great importance. Children and adolescents will be highly educated and become the future health practitioners who will help healthcare to members of the society, may become business astute who will build viable businesses and promote the economic development of the country, and become activists who champion for the rights of the community.
