Mainly, regarding the correlation between improvement science and higher education, you made it clear that improvement science bridges the gap between research and practice. I could support your sentiments by illustrating the point that many technologies have been created in institutions of higher education. Institutions of higher education can test these technologies. Most institutions of higher education have research departments that work closely with stakeholders in improvement science to attain better outcomes. I also agree in as much the role of the two entities is to bridge the gap between research and practice; there is still a disconnect between the two.

I have also noted that in your post, you have highlighted some critical issues in explaining why there is a disconnect between research and practice. For instance, you have categorically highlighted the fact that instead of researchers making the initiative of partnering with educational practitioners, most scholars and researchers from higher education place a massive emphasis from a different perspective. I feel like you should have provided a solution to this. In this regard, my answer would be the development of a framework that will enable a multifactorial approach to practice and research.

I agree with your sentiments regarding the role of improvement science in rolling out a new behavior management program. It is almost unrealistic for schools to embrace a zero-tolerance policy when, in actuality, the change graph for certain behaviors takes time. I politely disagree with the fact that the district seeks to roll out a program that will see students receive emotional support and solve the problem of repeated behavior infractions. These are some of the issues improvement science is designed to address. However, I feel like there should be more excellent entities for carrying out such functions. I believe that entities like faith-based organizations, non-government organizations, and other initiatives should have offered such services instead of dedicating that function to the district administrators.
