Role of genres in music

Individuals react to music differently compared to books or fashion in the sense that music synchronizes people’s brains and the body’s, thus driving people to connect in the contemporary world today. However, one is not entitled to despise books and fashion because they also play an essential role in society. Therefore, this paper talks about music, book, and style on a broader perspective and establishes the narrative that demonstrates the essence in which music bonds people together better than fashion and books. In this regard, despite books and fashion playing vital roles in our lives, the different types of genres in music increase coordination, contact, and cooperation among individuals in the society hence increasing the drive to connect and interact.

Some of the characteristics involved in music include strengthening empathy and the theory of mind, increase in cultural cohesion, increase coordination and contact, increases inspirations, and it is educative and accessible. On the contrary, books and fashion generally, have the same characteristics. These traits involve inaccessibility, vulnerability, expensive, offensive, social classism, and books only serve the literate. The analogy displayed already in this context establishes that music bonds people together compared to books and fashion. For instance, with different genres, everyone can listen to music that suits them and get inspired by the music, but books can only be read and understood by the literate. This prospect shows that books are biased and that only the scholarly get to be inspired by the books, thus diminishing bonds among individuals.

Music increases empathy and strengthens the theory of the mind in a manner likely to suggest that it releases endorphins in the brain, activating the brain circuit to allow what other people feel and think while listening to a song. This notion promotes empathy and links the theory of mind to bring people together and enjoy a song. Despite people being in different parts of the world, music concerts of the same can make people attend and bond as one in society, thus increasing relationships in the contemporary world. On the other hand, people view fashion from a different angle in the sense that not everyone can put on the same outfit and look presentable, thus diminishing bonds in society. However, music is listened to by everyone without bias. In this regard, this narrative depicts that music is better than books and fashion in bond creation within a community.

Cultural cohesion is an attribute that encourages togetherness among individuals in the world today. Fashion, in this case, discourages this analogy in the sense that fashion can be offensive to the public domain and cultural practices. For example, the Arabic culture that condemns the wearing of short dresses by females and the wearing of trousers in some African communities that consider trousers a taboo. This narrative diminishes national cohesion on a broader perspective hence bond deterioration. However, music plays a different role in this perspective because, through music, the Arabic culture becomes one forgetting the idea of women wearing short dresses. Additionally, communities in Africa tend to dance to music hence promoting cultural cohesion. An example that vividly bonds individuals through music is when people are singing the national anthem during baseball and football games and the lullaby songs that are passed from one generation to another.

Concerning coordination and contact as described earlier, music promoted this analogy in the sense that it synchronizes our bodies and brains to coordinate, connect, and contact each other in society. Through this narrative, bonds are created, for example, when one has given birth, during the singing of lullaby songs, during birthday parties, weddings, and other celebratory events. Therefore, it is undisputed not to note that music creates a better bond compared to books and fashion. In the light of books and style, they are time-consuming and expensive, depicting the analogy that books can only be gotten in the library and that while reading them, one has to be alone locked up in the library. In this regard, books only lead to lineless. Fashions are expensive; on the other hand, making people not acquire the right attire to fit into society. Yet, the music is accessible and affordable to everyone, thus causing everyone to fit in the community regardless of the type of music one listens. This analogy establishes that music creates a better bond in society compared to fashion and books

Musical genres are an inspiration in the nation. Through music, one can be uplifted when he or she is down and that some music delivers messages, especially in politics, to enable registered voters to vote in an upcoming election. This narrative shows that music brings people together, even during voting processes hence increases political bonds among individuals. Books and fashion, on the other hand, cannot satisfy everyone and bring people together in the sense that books only relates to the literate people who only understand to read any aspect of political affiliation in the society. With music, voters can come out with large numbers and vote, but with books, fewer people can get involved during the voting process. This prospect establishes the perception that music creates bonds better than books and fashion.

In as much as books are educative and accessible in some areas, they are also vulnerable and expensive to acquire. It is understandable to believe that books educate people and gives them relevant knowledge of what is required in society. Nevertheless, it is also applicable to note that books are vulnerable in a manner likely to suggest that they can get wet and rip, and easily damaged during storage. Music, on the other hand, is accessible and cheap and affordable. They are purchased locally at a fair or reasonable price.

In most cases, people will go for low and affordable prices compared to expensive things that are vulnerable in society. Having books and reading them is essential, but in this case, they reduce bonds among individuals as described earlier. For instance, one would easily buy a song through a phone via various social media platforms compared to books or fashion clothing such as Nike or Gucci hence creating musical bonds within the society.

Fashion, in most cases, relates to social classism, meaning that people tend to dress due to their social status. For example, those with a higher financial situation would dress expensively compares to with low financial esteem. Most of those with higher financial well-being would afford expensive clothing limited to their social class. This narrative depicts that social classism diminishes bonding in society at large. Besides, music does not know whose social class it should address, but it is vividly listened to by everyone in the contemporary world. Music, in this case, soothes the minds and soul of each individual regardless of one’s social status in a community, thus creating massive bonds among individuals compared to books and fashion.

In conclusion, music’s main inspiration is to inspire, connect, and unite people in the world today. As described earlier, it promotes cultural cohesion, increases coordination, and unity among individuals. Also, it is accessible and affordable to the public domain. Music does not attribute to factors such as social classism, vulnerability, offensiveness, and literacy. Music is a way of bringing people together, as described earlier. For example, music increases and strengthens the theory of mind in the sense that it releases endorphins enabling even the circuits in the brain to encourage empathy and togetherness while listening to any music. In this regard, it brings out the essence of friendship, thus increasing the bond among people in society. On the contrary, books and fashion play a divisive role in society today. In this prospect, fashion encourages social classism in a manner likely to suggest that people with better financial status comfortably dress to limit their social status in society. Others who tempt to dress like them are referred to as “wannabe.” Additionally, others in other parts of the world cannot even afford basic needs such as clothing, thus encouraging social classism. Therefore, this context answers the opinion that music creates bonds better than books and fashion.
