The home ground of this team is M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore. This team was bought by Vijay Mallya as the chairman of United Spirits in 2008 at the cost of $111.6 million. It had got some of the known players in its first season. They include Rahul Dravid, Dale Steyn, Anil Kumble, Mark Boucher, and Zaheer Khan. Despite having many big players in its team regularly, it has never been fortunate enough to win this tournament till date.
