Scientists never stop to find solutions to current issues
I have always been fascinated by science and technology, thanks to my inquisitive mind. I never shy away from asking ‘why?’ and ‘how?’ to understand even the basic concepts of our everyday life. Science and technology appeal to me because of the endless possibilities the fields have as well as the promise of more significant technological advances expected in the near future. Science and technology have evolved tremendously over the past decades, and their integration to many other fields is evident. As a student, I`m more interested in their application to modern-day problems. Scientists never stop to find solutions to current issues while, at the same time, use the same current science and technology data to predict future patterns.
Being part of a science contest team a few years back, I had a rare opportunity to listen to science students present their unique but fascinating ideas to the whole science fraternity. This group of students were well versed, communicated efficiently, and exhibited their arguments more precisely. Their inventions were impressive as they demonstrated how science and technology are intertwined. Having attended more of these science contests, I became more inclined towards studying science and technology to understand how the world has evolved, both scientifically and technologically. The science contests helped build my confidence, strengthening my critical thinking, and creating meaningful relationships with other like-minded students.
I`m interested in exploring technological advances in different fields and how they will impact our modern society. Robotics and manufacturing, cloud computing, health, information, and communication, among others, are areas that the incorporation of technology has brought massive changes. Science, on the other hand, integrate concepts that help students improve and apply critical thinking in problem-solving. Current trends in science and technology are becoming more diverse as a result of advancements in science and technology.
Whereas current literature does not address future technological concerns, my interest in scientific research, along with current and previous literature, will help highlight and recommend solutions to current and future problems. I acknowledge challenges in undertaking courses in science and technology. Regardless, I believe in my ability to push on and remain focused throughout my studies. Drawing satisfaction from the science contests, I strive to be a team player and collaborate with other students to progress forward. Indeed, there is strength in numbers, and the science and technology faculties will guide us throughout the studies as we move towards the future.
