Secondary school leaving certificate
It is a certificate obtained by a student on successful completion of an examination at the end of study at the secondary school level in India
I was surprised when my new school administration asked for an SSLC certificate as a mandatory document for my new admission to that higher secondary level school. I was very excited for4 my new school, and that was some break to my excitement. I little hesitated to ask what is SSLC to my new school administration. Later that day, I went home and told all the matter to my parents. My mother also didn’t know about this term SSLC. The mystery was uncovered when my father came office. They told us the SSLC full form, and that was Secondary School Level Certificate. After the gap of one day, my uncle and I went to my previous school and asked for the SSLC certificate. School administration checked my records and issued my Secondary level Certificate. The next day I submitted it to my new school with all remaining necessary documents.
So today I think that, like me, so many students and parents want to know about the SSLC certificate and some other related terms like all the levels of schooling. Internationally and in many regions like in India like Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, SSLC is a standard eligibility criterion
and can be obtained by passing the 10th board class examination.
Basics of the education system in India:
Basically, in India, the levels of schooling are divided into three parts:
(i) Primary school level
(ii) Secondary School level
(iii) Higher Secondary school Level or Pre University
The first five years of schooling are considered as primary schooling, and it is mandatory for every child of India. The next five years of education are referred to as secondary schooling. After secondary school, we can obtain the SSLC, and the next two years of education are for the preparation of university entrance. Someone can choose industrial training for technical knowledge, and in other terms, the Indian education system follows the board system. Central boards and state board, they all follow the 10+2+3 pattern of education. In this mechanism, ten years of the study done in secondary level schools and the next two years for the higher secondary or pre-college scholarship, and the next three years is to attain a bachelor’s degree.
