My interests are in corporate governance as a career in top executive would fit my interests and goals. Corporate governance deals with most of the decision making processes. It provides organizational direction and formulates different policies.  I recognize that topic executive careers are based on effective leadership, transparency, stakeholders’ management, and assurance.  The job tasks entail managing, decision making, and organizing. It implies that one must be committed, knowledgeable, hardworking, and innovative. The corporate world is demanding and dynamic hence the need to continually gain new managerial and leadership skills.

I believe that my core values place me in the upper hand in executing the above tasks. I am a risk-taker, efficient leader, influencer, achiever, and innovational. These core values are critical in putting an organization in the right direction.  Corporate leaders serve as role models to the junior workers. They offer guidance and oversee vital decision-making processes. It further calls for close working with different stakeholders. Consultation is essential in reducing errors in decision-making processes.  My current topic is accounting. My traits are energetic, ambitious, confident, assertive, and adventurous

Not only would these traits contribute to progressing my career, but they will also boost the performance levels. An example is that being assertive leads to better decisions and organizational control. On the other hand, ambitiousness act as the guide in formulation organizational goals. However, most of these goals cannot be attained without having the right stakeholders and energy. Being an energetic person, I will channel my skills to the creation of better communication and working relationships with other employees. Additionally, I am also keen on continually improving my skills and learning from other people.

 

Personal Branding

Personal branding refers to the uniqueness of an individual as compared to other persons. In work settings, I help set an employee apart from other workers. In my case, I seek to use my attributes and skills to keep my brand. My uniqueness largely lies in my communication and managerial skills. The argument rests on the fact that I can easily communicate with diverse people. I can equally communicate complex ideas at ease. The other skill that contributes to the uniqueness of my brand is leadership. It is the ability to guide other people. In the past, I have worked in different teams. Through such engagements, I have useful coordinated the group activities and helped in dispute resolution at ease. I am also keen on learning new things and interacting with new people.

Skills for the Top Executive Career 

Work performance levels are often based on skill levels. They reduce the chances of errors, delays, and further ensure there is the attainment of set objectives. Transferable skills/ portable skills refer to qualities that can be applied in different jobs. These skills can be moved from one task/ job to another. I possess strong skills in both organizing and communication. Some of my transferable skills include leadership, technology literacy, adaptability, dependability, teamwork, and communication. These skills make me suitable to work in different industries and teams. An example is that strong communication skills make it possible to share ideas or interact with new people easily.

Workplace culture refers to values, norms, and rules that guide the employees and other stakeholders. It can also be defined as the personality or character of an organization. Work culture makes an organization unique and highlights its traditions, values, and attitudes. A positive corporate culture is instrumental in fostering positive relations with all the stakeholders. It acknowledges the role played by the junior workers.  There is thus consolidation of the employees’ welfare, rights, and working conditions. The corporate level plays an instrumental role in determining the organizational culture.

A corporate position calls for a number of skills. The basic skills include leadership, communication, and managing. The junior workers look up to the corporate leaders to formulate the organizational policies and goals. Moreover, they must equally be communicated to all the concerned parties. Other than these skills, I believe that there is a need to be innovative, committed, have high integrity, humility, and cultural diversity. Cultural diversity makes it easy to interact with different people without triggering conflicts. Moreover, leaders must remain innovative and determine ways to continually attaining a competitive edge in the market.

In preparing for an interview, I would seek to examine the job description and equally consider the qualifications that are needed for the job. The move is to ensure that the job requirements align with my qualifications and interest. Secondly, I would undertake detailed research on the company and its roles. The move is critical in understanding the organizational culture and the values that are held by the company. Likewise, I would consider answering some of the common interview questions. In doing so, I would practice different body languages and seek loudly. Mock interviews are critical in understanding what to expect in interviews. Thirdly, I would undertake to prepare my resume and ensure that I have all the required documents.

There are different interview styles, such as behavioral, case, and structured and telephone interviews. They have different formats and seeks to attain different results. It is worth noting that these interviews have different structures and objectives.  There are thus differences in preparing for each interview. While telephone interviews are easy, the same cannot be said for a case or structured interviews. Behavioral, case, and structured interviews are common in many organizations. They largely focus on the ability of an employee to fit the organizational culture. In preparing for each interview, it vital to prepare all the required documents and improve on the compunction skills.
