  Sexual and gender identity

Gender is a term that can be understood as how individuals express themselves about their sex. As young people grow, they can be identified with gender that is different from their sex if they feel uncomfortable within their skin. Sexuality is quite complicated as it is different for everyone and therefore, there are various sexualities, which people tend to explore at their adolescent or childhood years. Gender identity is developing the idea of what it means to be either a girl or a boy and how the notions of a given gender apply to an individual. Gender concepts include how a given gender should act or think. Consequently, kids become more flexible with beliefs concerning what a boy or a girl is allowed to do therefore, they could end up preferring to be of a different gender from their own. Importantly, boys and girls gender identities tend to develop differently. Boys use masculine traits to define themselves becoming free of feminine attributes ,while, girls tend to contrast by embracing both feminine and masculine traits as well as behaviors. Children with both identities are more flexible and able to cope with life stress (Mizock & Hopwood, 2016). Children starts viewing life differently with either being female or male ,however, parents are uncomfortable with encouraging children to embrace both genders. Transgender is an aspect brought about by the issue of gender identity, a term used to describe people ,whose, gender identities, or expressions does not match their sex assigned at birth. Being transgendered comes with an internal feeling of wanting to be like different sex.Under this situation one feels more comfortable acting like the other gender.

According to the current news ,US is trying to stop North Carolina from enforcing a state law .Precisely baring transgender people from making use of bathrooms in government buildings and public schools that match their gender identity rather than their sex. Also, bathroom access is essential in transitioning. Bathroom access enables one to get used to the appropriate bathroom .Everyone has a right to live, be seen and treated well by others. In US, it is also essential for a transgender to take a step of medical intervention. (Jenkings, 2016). Poor access to the bathroom can make one delay taking bath, regarded as unhealthy, and avoid intake of liquids as a strategy to avoid going to uncomfortable showers which causes dehydration.

An overview of state legislation between 2013 and 2016, shows that some states have tried to pass the bills to restrict the use of bathrooms and some other sex-segregated facilities. For instance, in 2013, Arizona State considered the proposal but it failed. In 2015 nine states tried to pass the bill against transgender but failed to pass the bill. The American history show that, in 2016 nineteen states considered this bill but only North Carolina managed to enact the legislation. State legislation shows apparently that most of the rules do not support the transgender bill ,people are  limited to do what makes them comfortable (Platoff , 2019).Human should be granted their freedom to do whatever they want provided the activities they are involved in  do not bring harm to the society.

According to researchers, any parent can be concerned about their child if they appear to be gender nonconforming due to some reasons. Children may express some deals concerning distress based on their gender roles or assigned sex at birth.Children can experience some complicated social interaction with the adults or pears since there is gender expression. Parents of gender nonconforming children might need working with school and institutions addressing specific child needs to make sure there is safety. Research shows that it can be helpful consulting with mental health, the professionals having knowledge on gender issues in children could decide in addressing such concern. It is not advisable forcing children in acting much on gender conformal manner. Support from the peers and parents of gender non-conforming children can be helpful.

In the effort of supporting transgender members of the family and friends, it is good to educate people on transgender issues through reading books as well as attending and consulting from experts from transgender. It is essentially becoming aware of attributing your attitudes with concern on people with gender nonconforming appearance and behavior. It is advisable that people should not have assumptions concerning the people sexual orientation, desires such as medical treatment, medical, and other aspects of transition plans. Additionally, one should not make assumptions that can confuse being transgender with gender on nonconforming (Mizock & Hopwood, 2016). Not every person that is gender nonconforming is identified as transgender affirmation treatment. Additionally, it is vital to keep communication lines open with a transgendered person in one’s life.it takes time for understating and seeking support while dealing with their feelings. Mental health support and professional groups from family’s friends and transgender people can have adequate resources.

Advocating for transgender must involve appropriate psychological, social, and economic care. Familiarizing with local and state laws, which protect the transgender individual from being discriminated (Mayer & McHugh, 2016).Generally, from the above explanation, it is evident that the issue of transgender is of much concern. I tend to believe that any child with interests in transgender in any family should not be discriminated. Transgender children should be considered as necessary as any other child. Additionally, it is evident that everyone should understand the issue of Sexual and gender identity. Being proud of one’s gender and respecting the opposite sex is beneficial. The society should pay attention to gender equality and transgression. It is essential to understand that understanding gender equality could make sure that everyone gender is respected and given their role in society. Moreover, individuals with concerns and interests I transgender could not be banned from exercising their duty (Platoff ,(2019).In my point of view, this is a controversial issue raised by the media, and it is essential for people to understand it and even debate on it because it tends to be ignored mostly not realizing that it affects so many. The people who are transgender will not stand to defend themselves or fight for their rights because they fear the judgments people will give them or avoid looking different from others. Therefore, it is a necessary step for the media to be involved in sensitizing on the sexuality and gender issues.

Anti-discrimination laws in U.S do not include the protection of transgender people from discrimination based on their gender identity. Therefore they are discriminated in most aspects of their lives leading to psychological stress. The bias for the people with color is far worse than that of the whites and are mostly are a target of hate crimes due to judgments of how they look or act (Mizock & Hopwood, 2016). Any transgender issue, or problem such as discrimination should be banned from society. Sexuality and any gender issue based on transgender should be handled with care .Nobody either black or white in America should be discriminated in the Generally, in modern society, there are people with different ideas and opinions, some support transgender while others tend to refute transgender making it a controversial issue in the society. Personally, I do not see any problem associated with the individual being interested or attracted by the opposite sex or gender.
