Sexual Behavior of Americans.
This survey was conducted In America purposely to collect various information on the sexual experiences and other social, attitudinal, demographic and other health-related behaviors of adults in America.
The survey gathered information on sexual practice with the couples and other sexual partners and cohabitants and collected a background information about the partners. The mainly investigated areas included sexual experiences, for example, the number of sexual partners over a given period, the frequency of the sexual practice and timing of various sexual events. Other areas in question included marriage, sexual victimization, cohabitation, and fertility (Janus 2013). The respondents were also asked about their history of sexually transmitted infections, their attitude towards premarital sex, appeal for particular sexual practices like the oral sex, the level of satisfaction with their sexual partners. The sample persons were between ages 17 to 58 years drawn from various households tallying to about 5, 0000 individuals.
According to the study, 1 of 3 acts of vaginal intercourse among the couples of age between 17 to 29 years are protected using condoms in America. This data suggests an increase in the use of condoms. However, the campaigns for condom use remain a public health priority. The results depicts a very wide variation in sexual repertoires. Adults engage in a number of sexual acts (Janus 2013). Though the vaginal sex remain common among the sampled group, many sexual events don’t involve joint masturbation. The study reveals that the blacks mostly practice condom use together with the Spaniards who live in America compared to the white Americans.
The view of intercourse behavior between ages 19 to 25 years brings out a meaning that they are more sexually active than their counterparts of age between 49 to 60 years (Janus 2013). The aged continue to enjoy their intimate lives. Nevertheless those above forty years of age don’t like applying the use of condoms during sex, although their concern about pregnancy may be less, implying the demand for sexual awareness for the older regarding the STI risk and prevention.
In the survey conducted, about 84% gentlemen admit arousing their partners to sexual climax during their last intercourse compared to 65% women who hit the climax in the latest sex event (Janus 2013). Men climax faster while performing the vaginal intercourse, though women arouse when they encounter various acts of intercourse like the vaginal or oral. The data from the samples disclosed about 17% 0f the total sample are suffering lesbianism and homosexuality. The percentage of Americans who have had same-gender sexual interactions at a given period is on the rise. Most adolescents were not engaging in intercourse with their partners. While 50% of the males aged 17 years were engaged in sexual intercourse last year, whereas only 20% of such cases in the previous three months.
