Sexual harassment and assault response program aims at putting in proactive efforts of ending sexual harassments and sexual assaults within the ranks. It advocates that there should not be any sexual harassment and sexual assaults within the army family. This is through robust prevention and trainings where there is direct leader engagement for supporting the SHARP programs. The consistent team is coordinated in inspiring the SHARP response system. The army is putting much effort into the implementation of the SHARP campaign in conjunction with the department of defense. However, sexual harassment and assault response program incident are said to undermine trust and degrade readiness.
SHARP undermines readiness and trust, as indicated by research. The silhouette soldiers and civilians depicted the results within the sexual harassment, and sexual assaults issues had in the unit. Even though the grayed soldiers and the civilians might happen to be the ones in command, but their readiness and trust and the readiness of the company are undermined because of different reasons. Their readiness and confidence are compromised through the medical appointments, which are abruptly planned even without one’s consent and investigations, which does not respect soldier’s readiness and confidence. Further, the readiness of the soldiers is undermined through counseling and other emotional effects, which are a result of a lack of trust. All these events lead to degrading the unit’s abilities to complete their operational missions.
Studies indicate there is a cellar decline of the unit of readiness. Hence, there is a continuum of harm to readiness and trust by SHARP. The program undermines the trust that is supposed to be between the solders and dignity and respect. It increases the differences in trust between the leaders and followers since there is no shared understanding between the two teams. Hence, even though the program is designed for helping in ensuring that there is no sexual harassment in the army, it leads to undermining of trust and readiness. For instance, it opens a chance for soldiers to always report or even become anxious concerning the actions of the fellow soldiers since they will ever think they will be sexually harassed. On the SHARP summit, the leaders and commanders advocate that sexual assaults and sexual harassments have no chance of thriving if there is the creation of an environment that is hard for the soldier to engage in actions that violate the other soldier’s dignity and respect.

The army SHARP program’s main goals are putting of proactive efforts aiming at ending the sexual harassment and sexual assaults in the military. Further, SHARP aims at the promotion of cultural changes in the army with the vision of achieving cultural discipline and response where soldiers intervene in sexual harassment in protecting one another. Additionally, it aims at offering the commanders with essential resources, education, and other training which can help bring to an end of sexual harassment and sexual assaults that happen in the army.
In conclusion, SHARP is a program that majorly focuses on ending any sexual assault and sexual harassment that happen in the army. Other goals of the program are to the promotion of a culture of discipline and respect among the soldiers. Additionally, it aims at educating leaders and solders concerning sexual harassment and sexual assaults. However, SHARP, undermines people’s readiness and trust through acts like medical appointments.
