Sherlock Holmes was naturally a bold character that least demonstrated any sign of fear! He was ever ready to face up any challenge that would come his way in his pursuit of justice. As depicted from “A Scandal in Bohemia,” he decided to attack the mob as a way of drawing the attention of Irene (The Guardian 2015). Besides, Sherlock had, on several occasions, confronted dreadful murderers who were extremely feared by other detectives. This boldness was manifested when he attacked Dr. Roylott as accounted for in “The Adventure of the Speckled Band.” Sherlock also had formidable physical strength. He, for instance, managed to unbend with ease, a fire poker which was half-bent. As depicted from the opinion of Dr. Watson, Holmes was a good boxer and a swordsman. He is also described as versatile combat because of the carelessness that enabled him to successfully fight the fiercest snake with a stick (The Guardian 2015).
Besides, Sherlock is also depicted as an intelligent and witty character. He had good mental strength. The high level of IQ in this man was quite significant in his career and profession. As a detective, this was quite critical for the successful execution of his missions (Mumford, 2015). For instance, in “A Scandal in Bohemia,” he was able to identify and recognize the King of Bohemia; this demonstrated that Sherlock had a good understanding of politics and the political landscape of the area where he was working. Sherlock is also a very polite and contented character. He has a good mastery of emotional intelligence and knew how to balance his emotions. This made him disguise his anger and annoyance with ease: a condition that made him succeed in most of his investigations. He is also depicted as a fastidious character! Holmes had high levels of dedication and commitment in his lines of duty. He was a zealous man who would follow different causes of crime to the very end (Hale, 2013). The undying conviction in discharging his duties made him win most of the battles that came his way because he never gave up quickly. Nonetheless, the personality of Sherlock Holmes was his strength in most of his detective missions.
