Short Report on the job – Service Engineer in Dynamometer Testing
Section 1
Career choice and development is an essential aspect of the pursuit of formal knowledge acquisition. My chosen career is in the field of Service Engineer in Dynamometer Testing. To enter into this career, one is required to have a minimum of a high school diploma as well as above-average scores in both physics and mathematics. Computer literacy is also essential given that there is a lot of computer studies including; coding, program development in the learning modules. There is a demand for employees in this field, and the average pay varies from one institution to another.
Section 2
Basic computer set-up: the set-up of the machines in the Service Engineer in Dynamometer Testing involves the capability of incorporating networking principles in the structural frameworks of the computer models set up to facilitate the efficient sharing of data and information. It is also necessary for individuals in this field of career study to have computer literacy skills in setting up DB9 connections. Remote web access using proxy server connections are also essential skills in the basic computer set-up (Killedar, 2012). This facilitates remote access by users, even in various regions. Web resources: various web resources are used in the Service Engineer in Dynamometer Testing for purposes such as communication as well as data and information sharing. Resources such as google are utilized as the central search engine through which research and vital data collection are executed through (Huang, 2017). Other web resources, such as chat applications are utilized to facilitate communication amongst employees. These applications include webchat are used in telecommunications, e.g. in China. Additional online resources that are being used include online training, where it is possible to provide remote training to other employees.
Application software: in the engineering sphere, there are various software that is used for primary task execution purposes. In the Service Engineer in Dynamometer Testing, the commonly used application software include; LABVIEW is application software that requires test, measurement, and control with rapid access to hardware and data insights (Thompson, Marks & Rhode, 2002). DIADEM, on the other hand, is a software program that is designed to help engineers and scientists quickly locate, inspect, analyze, and report on measurement data using one software tool (Thompson, Marks & Rhode, 2002). EXCEL for timesheets is used in making calculations as well as spreadsheets to facilitate quick and easy storage and retrieval of data.
System software: the system software used is the conventional PC operating system where most of the computers utilize Microsoft Windows as the standard operating system software. Utility programs are also used to carry out routine programs such as regular data entry checks among other operations.
System Hardware: the hardware system comprises of different components that are linked and connected to work in unison to produce the desired solutions. Some of the hardware components include; CPU’s this is where all the arithmetic processing takes place, the RAM, i.e. random access memory is a part of the computer memory in which the current computer operations being executed are temporarily stored. Speakers, on the other hand, are audio output devices that relay auditory information (Leonard & LaVerghetta, 1968). Hard drives, on the other hand, are memory allocation devices in which processed data gets stored. Video graphics cards are visual display hardware components that aid in the display unit.
