shortage of medical professionals
Every age of group need a doctor’s help to get health care treatment when anyone gets sick and that is a powerful perspective if a person commits to pursuing medicine to save the lives of others. With the increasing world population, health problems are escalating rapidly. Patients of Cancer, Obesity, Cardio Diseases, Diabetes, Early Deaths and several Chronic Diseases, are being increased consistently. Our modern lifestyle has completely been changed and we all have busy lives and adopting a modern lifestyle. Especially the new generation is losing health because of unhealthy eating habits and addiction to fast food. A sedentary lifestyle is affecting our life which seems to be spreading widely in the entire world, and less physical activities are also associated with inviting the fear of many chronic diseases. The world is facing scarcity of drinking water, food, energy & other resources together with fast-growing diseases for population being exposed to risk factors & other determinants. There is a shortage of medical professionals and almost every country is affected or will be of these problems in future.
My pursuit in medicine aroused when I got an injury on my tongue at the age of 10 and moderate Hemophilia was detected. Being inquisitive, I always used to observe my daily routine life activities around the search of medical knowledge since puerility. My decision to study in medical school has also been fortified through my delectation in Biology and Chemistry while studying in XI, but my determination strengthened facing two sudden demises of my family members in 2018. First, my grandmother passed away in March 2018 due to diabetic and heart disease and then after 3 months my grandfather died in July 2018, who was suffering from diabetes and diagnosed with chronic foot Gangrene, his right foot was amputated, but he could not survive for long.
There is no doubt that education is the most significant component of our life being that substantial investment which will never go in vain. I was enamoured to study abroad since childhood because my father had gone to the UK for pursuing his master degree from the Robert Gordon University in 2006, even my father’s inspiration also motivated me to apply for further study in the UK. The country has a world-class reputation in several fields and is globally-acclaimed for being a centre of the world, high ranking & prominent world-class universities, a healthy environment, favourable weather conditions and multiculturalism. It is a fact that UK universities and degrees are always acknowledged and greeted by multinational companies, employers, academics institutions in the entire world. Students also have better opportunities to build up a bright future and develop their skills while studying there. Further, entry to medical school in the UK is directly after finishing high school while in Canada will have to get an undergraduate degree first, then I can apply to medical school which is a long process and will have to spend an extra year. I also found in my research that some of the world’s prominent leaders and personalities have studied from UK universities like, Lee Hsien Loong Prime Minister of Singapore, Margrethe 2 Queen of Denmark, Najib Razak Prime Minister of Malaysia, John F. Kennedy, Mahatma Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and others. Even UK universities and institutions have produced several Nobel prize achievers so far.
Paucity of medical professionals are growing up around the world and global demands of them are not fulfilling as required. As per a report of World Health Organization, there is a global scarcity of approx. 4.3 million, doctors, nurses and others medical professional so far. However, instead of these problems, several new amazing evolutions have revealed in the field of medicine. Medical Sector has now achieved unlimited opportunities with many possibilities in which I can potentially fulfill all my dreams in future and get an opportunity to save the life of others.
