Sinopec Group

The social cause is essential for any organization that wants to offer services bother nationally and internationally. Social purpose in an organization plays a significant role in ensuring that the company is providing the best services. The other key thing with social cause is the fact that it helps address an issue faced by the organization and come up with a better solution to the problem. In this case, Sinopec is one of the largest energy industry which has strived to offer the best services across china. The company has made advancements in ensuring that they capture a more comprehensive market within china (Kaler, 2003). In this case, I, therefore, choose collaboration with other industries, safety and compliance and respect for diversity and employees development as my social causes.

When looking at the respect for diversity, employee development is one of the critical issues that has been raised over the years. Many employees working in the organization have always claimed that the company does not support the employees. They also stated that the company is not making any efforts to motivate them. A big company like Sinopec needs to ensure that they work towards the development of the employees. Employees play a critical role in the organization as they ensure that everything is working on well, and the organization achieves its mission. The company has, therefore taken this initiative to ensure that the employees are well developed. The company respects the employees and follows the concept of humanism, and the company has also guaranteed that operate on a win, win situation. It means that the company helps the employees and the employees help the organization. The company, in this case, has worked towards ensuring that they create employment opportunities to the people and community at large. It is a way of ensuring that they also give back to the community (Huang & Wang, 2007).

The other social cause is safety and compliance. The company is ensuring that they offer the best operation management and security. The company, in this case, ensure that they provide the best quality services and ensures that they deliver the best projects. The clients are often satisfied with the products offered by Sinopec. They ensure that whenever people’s safety is enhanced. Production of oil at times can create harm to the community which who live around there. The company has, therefore ensured that the safety of the kids is always considered. The other thing is that the company has worked towards collaborating with other industries. For the company to achieve its mission, there was a need to work hand in hand with other corporations. The company has collaborated mainly with the local industries which specialize in the same field. It, therefore, makes it easier for them to venture a specific market and make their products. Through collaborating with other industries, the company can gain more ideas on how they can increase production. The company is the main objective is to ensure that they are the leading energy corporation in china which offers the best and quality products.

The business’s ethics, corporations and social responsibility is the best thing for the organization as it will help contribute towards the success of the company’s mission.  It will also create the best opportunity where the company can compete globally. In the case where the social cause that I have chosen is essential in that the employees play a significant role in the organization (Ferrell, Johnston & Ferrell, 2007).  Without the employees, it will be difficult for the organization to make any form of production. Through this social cause on employee development and diversity, they can get new training and skills as well as interacting with other employees. Through this, they will be on the safe side of achieving the company goals and objectives. The organization will also be in the position of conducting better research on the latest technology that they will use in their production. The other thing is why I feel that the social issues best fits the organization is the fact that through collaborating with other industries, the company can make advancements in terms of its production. For instance, the company has managed to be the best not only in China but also across the world. The company has managed to come up with the best innovation and has become one of the best petrochemical industry across the globe. Through collaboration with other industries, they can come up with new ideas and new technology that will help the company offer the best products globally.

Stakeholder and stockholder theories have also contributed towards coming up with my decision on the social cause. The stockholder theory has contributed towards the success of the company because the theory states that the managers need to be given the priority in the organization. The company has ensured that they come up with the right salaries for their managers. In this case, the company will be motivated to offer the best services as well as ensuring how the company spends its money. In this case, the managers have provided that the company provides the products across the world. Through the theory, the stakeholders can makes decisions that will affect the organization positively. The other thing is that the stakeholder theory has also played a significant role in ensuring that the company becomes a success. Through the stakeholders, the company can proceed with its daily operations. Stakeholders of the company include the customers, employees, suppliers and the local community. The theory states that the organization must respect all its stakeholders as they play a significant role in the organization. It is the same thing that we see with Sinopec, which has ensured that they beat all odds to be at the top. The company has also ensured that it engages all its stakeholders in any decision they make pertaining to the organization. The theories, therefore, helps the organization achieve its visions as well as the mission for the organization.

In this case, I considered the long term goal of Sinopec. Sinopec has always been of the lead to ensure that they offer the best services to the people (Freeman, 2015).  The company wants to be on top of providing energy solutions to the world. It has, therefore made it easier for the company to enhance its production and cater to the needs of the employees. The primary reason for this is to ensure that employees are treated to help them focus on production. Employees that are motivated in the organization will work to achieve the company goals and objectives. I looked at a personal level and the challenges that various employees undergo the whole working in the company.

The internal ethics of Sinopec that have impacted the selection is how different employees are treated as well as their behaviours. Most companies do not value employees that much. They just treat them usually without noticing the impact they add to the organization. In this case, the organization needs to ensure that the employees are well managed, and they follow the employee set standards. The other thing is that the employees have not been acting that well which raises issues. They need to behave in a way that they will help achieve the company mission and visions (Reskin, 2000).  Externally, the ethics that have influenced the organization is how they handle themselves globally amidst collaborating with other companies. It is essential for the organization always to protect its image as it will greatly impact its production. A company that has a better image within the public is able to maintain its customers. The company is also able to make better sales.
