Throughout my nursing degree, I have had to interact with several scholarly kinds of literature. Some of the pieces of writing have been helpful, while I found flaws in others. However, I found several academic types of literature that have been very beneficial to my studies. These works of research have been peer-reviewed, confirming their significant authenticity. One such source is the American Journals of Nursing. It has been beneficial in providing me with insights meaningful to my profession. It contains scholarly literature that I would recommend nursing students to interact with while pursuing their nursing degrees. This paper is focused on reviewing sources of nursing information that have been helpful in my degree.
Many people make the mistake of looking for information directly from sources like Google. As much as they can offer answers, not every information, there is efficient. Some are blog suite created for commercial purposes and do not present authentic information. However, a source like a peer-reviewed journal is precious. The American Journal of Nursing is one of the most relevant sources I have used. This journal is the oldest and most-acknowledged nursing journal in the world. It adheres to journalistic standards that require transparency in case of conflicts between authors, editors, and readers. (Taichman et al. 2016). Its publishing standards are in line with those set by the international committee of medical journal editors. Moreover, it welcomes the submission of evidenced-based clinical research to promote the effectiveness of medical applications. The information I got from this journal is very credible and ultimately well outlined for its audience.
Overly, when interacting with scholarly literature, it is crucial to consider those who are peer-reviewed. They offer the most credible information regarding any field of study. For instance, in nursing, I would recommend the American Journal of Nursing. It is well outlined and rich with credible and authentic information.
