Speaker Recognition
In my speaker recognition, one speaker deserved thumbs up for the good work done during his presentation. For this speaker, I put her in the category of most effective overall speaker. This speaker exhibited all characteristics of an effective speaker with the required ingredients of effective speech delivery. An excellent public speaking captures the attention of the audience by informing them, convincing or entertaining on the chosen topic. This speaker met all these criteria to clinch the position of the most effective overall speaker throughout the class. In my rationale for selecting this speaker, I also considered other aspects of the nonverbal cues in her presentations. These nonverbal cues spice up the speech delivery to achieve an entertaining session. To begin with, the speaker exhibited a lot of strength, creativity and vigor during her presentation. For example, one of her favorite speeches she made was a persuasive speech. It was about animals wondering through the streets. During the delivery of her speech, the speaker was very emotional. She even brought her cats to class for effective demonstrations of her points. The use of arts of both living and nonliving things during presentation is very effective. A few people would forget her message but the rest had the message and it stuck in their minds. The class would reflect so often on the cats. This type of presentation kept us the audience in touch with the message the speaker was trying to deliver. As matter of fact, most of the audience was deprived of sleep. Effective speech delivery encompasses keeping track of your audience form the beginning of the speech to the end of the session. This ensures they fully gain from the presentation.
The other feature of this speaker that made me categorize her in this section was her ability to deliver a precise message which was very clear. As a speaker, effective persuasive speech delivery is a component integrating several arts language. This comes hand in hand with enhanced speaker performance. The enhanced performance takes into consideration a good inflection, proper pronunciation, use of expressions to demonstrate points as witnessed before. Moreover, it involves the ability of the speaker to appear conversational and natural at the same time as well as maintaining eye contact with the audience. The voice should be loud enough and clear to have the points delivered without the audience straining to get the words. She demonstrated all these abilities and went an extra mile to visual presentation. Additionally, she did not rely so much in his notecards which won the trust of the audience about the originality of the contents of the speech. She applied the use of relevant quotes from prominent world personalities to make the points to be home. For instance, during one of his presentations on the topic the animals wondering through the streets, she used the quote from Martin “An animal’s eye has the power to speak a great language.” After she ended the quote, the whole audience plunged into silence. The message was very precise and clear. She had a great affection for animals and especially pets.
The additional feature of this speaker to earn her this category was in her motivational speech. On her chosen topic, the speaker applied an appropriate use of diction as required. She was perfect on the types of examples used during the whole session. From her speech, I gained an experience on possible it is to obey even the animals’ rights. Just as human beings, animals too have rights which must be obeyed and respected. Her illustrations were very clear and she reiterated the fact that animals are God’s creatures so it’s important to consider their welfare as well. My experience on the animals has been multiplied and besides I have been persuaded to put animals in a grater consideration. Moreover, those who molest animals should be persecuted under the set laws and regulations. In many occasions, I have tried to find a solution to find a solution for the wandering animals in the street. In have tried to solicit funds for establishing animal orphanages. This however, has proved to be a rocket science kind of a thing. I said I would only make one attempt to do fundraising. However, after listening to this speech, I was persuaded and motivated that establishing the animal orphanage is possible. Perhaps that last chance for fundraising would achieve my set targets.
