In the midst of a covid-19 global pandemic, spiritualists in the medical field and health sector will devote in searching for cure and vaccine, which they will ultimately find. According to Woolf, spiritualists are distinctively beautiful in vision and effect in the realm of post-global-crisis. As she puts it, We are not pleading merely for courage and sincerity; but suggesting that the proper stuff for fiction is a little other than custom would have us believe it.”(Woolf 46). Philanthropists will also genuinely give towards the fight of the pandemic as well as to research towards vaccine and cure. Similarly, spiritualists are brave and genuine, authentic, and bold. Spiritualists in the medical field will those be brave, sacrifice their time, and efforts to attend to Covid-19 patients fearlessly. As artists and spiritualists will be devoted to social work, and the fight against the virus.
Covid-19 pandemic has made Americans realize the essence of life, valuing it more than material. The epidemic is creating America 2.0 that is no longer materialistic but is concerned more about life and what interests us. According to Woolf, life is small, not as big as we thought, a concept realized in the plight of COVID-19 battle. The greatest worry of Americans is no longer their work or social circles but being alive and safe from the pandemic. In the wake of covid 19 pandemics, quarantined in our houses, lonely in isolation chambers in hospital, or experiencing effects of lock-down, the truth is communicated through the external self. The message that life is an essential thing flashes its myriad message in our minds like a flame. “the flickerings of that innermost flame which flashes its myriad messages through the brain,” as Woolfs says (Woolf 35). We are made to focus internally on the essence of life; Americans cannot avoid the thoughts.
