Students Life Cycle to Higher Education
The most important goal for any university or college is student success; for example, it has depended on the marketing activities for Universities to attract fresh prospects, nurture them through continuous engagement, track their interests, and successfully recruit them into the University. The students’ life cycle is just like a customer life cycle; just like retailers try to increase their shopping experience, it is also the same way in which Universities and Higher Education find themselves. The paper is going to discuss the student’s life cycle to higher education that is the Digital life cycle of a student, which plays a significant role not only to the student but to higher education as well.
The digital life cycle of a student. Students are usually equipped with iPad, smartphones to engage within the University, and this plays a significant role in delivering information within the University. The complete digital life cycle of a student is admissions from recruitment to alumni (García & de Figuerola, 2010). Therefore, Higher Education should begin recruiting students using social media, digital presence, and new technologies, which are a virtual reality of their reputations and past results. Digitization helps tutors know who they are engaging with online learning services, and it may also help the tutor understand a red flag even before it develops (Tomas, Borg & McNeil, 2015, p.590). Thus, digitization does not only make work easier within the campus, but it also helps students to engage with their tutors, their peers in extracurricular social activities within the University.
In conclusion, the student digital life cycle plays a significant role not only for the student but also for higher education as well. Digitization of higher education helps students access resources and places within the University more easily.
