Greenpeace Leader: Patrick Moore
Description
Patrick Moore is one of the leaders of an environmentalist movement in Canada known as the Greenpeace. He graduated with a degree in forest biology and later got his PhD in ecology. After which Moore worked with Sierra Club and then joined Greenpeace where he has worked since 1971 as the president in the Canadian region. In 1986, Patrick became the international president of Greenpeace. However, he maintains that he is not the founder of Greenpeace as President Trump often refer to him. Moore has, together with other founders, have played a vital role in creating sustainability through environmental conservation. According to (Council et al. .2013), Greenpeace is a non-governmental environmental organization that operated in more than thirty-nine countries and headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Moore has been serving Greenpeace since 1970. Currently, he was noted in the media through Fox news addressing Green New Deal. He has worked tirelessly with the movement to forecast climatic changes, warn countries, especially the United States about the dangers of carbon dioxide emission and climatic crisis. One of the ways of attaining sustainability is to ensure that the environment is conserved in all dimensions. Moore, through Greenpeace organization, has promoted a sustainable environment that fosters stability in economic activities. Moore was chosen because his mission and vision at Greenpeace align with sustainability objectives. He has been successful in encouraging and formulating policies that enable sustainable development across the globe.
