Introduction

It is initially important to understand the meaning of sustainable development goals (SDGs). The goals are also known as global goals, and they are also highly important for countries to adopt by the member of the United States by 2015. It is becoming a matter of importance to understand that as per the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), it is becoming increasingly important for countries that they should work over-achieving their sustainable goals. UNDP has called a universal action to fight against poverty and protecting the planet. The established of SDGs ensure that the world is becoming a peaceful place to live in by 2030. There are altogether 17 SDGs which are integrated, and the actions are taken to make sure that the development in respect of social, economic and environmental sustainability

Discussion

There are different SDGs which are designed to bring prosperity to society. The establishment of development goals is also becoming highly important to save lives and fulfil the targets. There are various goals for SDGs but “Good health and well being” is a third sustainable goal which is becoming essential to consider and the target of this goal is to make sure that healthy lives and well being of a human is promoted globally.

UNDP promotes the goal of good health and well being, and the reason for establishing this goal is helping in making sure that the number of deaths has been cut to half. The goal is going to make sure that the people living globally are going to fight against. As a result, countries and businesses globally are making sure that they are spending money to treat and prevent illness. The new goals are established to promote the concept of good health and healthy lifestyles. The preventive measures must be taken to ensure that effective measures must be taken for making people healthy.

While evaluating sustainable development goals, it is becoming highly important to understand that global meeting goals are based on targets. There are 13 different targets attached to the goal of good health and well being the targets are as follows:

Target 3.1 – The goal has been stating that it is essential to make sure that mortality rate and by 2030, the global mortality rate ratio is less than 70 per 100,000 per live births.

Target 3.2 – Target is to increase the life of years. The goal is to end all preventable deaths which are under the age of 5 years. By the end of 2030, the goal is to make sure that the deaths of newborns are reducing as low as 12 as per 1,000 live births. The level of mortality rate is going to be low as 25 as per 1,000 live births is the sustainable target of this goal.

Target 3.3 – The target is to fight against infectious diseases, and this explains that it is becoming essential to understand that by the end of 2030, the countries must make sure that they have goals to fight against AIDS, TB and malaria in a place

Target 3.4 – The promotion of mental health and reducing mortality rate is also one of the targets of sustainable goal.  By the end of 2030, according to UNDP, the countries must ensure that they are fighting against premature mortality rate and other non-communicable diseases using promoting mental health amongst people living in-country

Target 3.5 – Substance abuse is becoming a new issue globally, and the sustainable target is to make sure that this issue is prevented and treated globally. Countries must take the measures to eliminate risks related to narcotic drugs and alcohols as well as they are also under the definition of substance abuse

Target 3.6 – The number of people dying from road injuries has been increasing, and the sustainable development target is to make sure that by the end of 2020, road deaths and injuries are half in number globally

Target 3.7 – The sustainable development target is to make sure that the families are living globally are having access to sexual and reproductive care. This indicates that by the end of 2030, UNDP is having a mission of making sure that the people are having access to health care facilities related to family planning and they are also provided with the necessary information regarding the topic

Target 3.8 – The people living globally must achieve universal health coverage, such as they should have access to financial risk protection and quality healthcare services.  The target is to make sure that the people living globally are having access to safe and effective medicines which are having high quality

Target 3.9 – People are living globally are also dying due to chemical pollution as their lives are getting affected by the presence of different chemicals in the air. Thus, UNDP has established a target in which it was made sure that the illness amongst people living globally must be reduced and the death rate must be lower by preventing environment. By the end of 2030, UNDP is having a target of reducing deaths globally due to the presence of different types of pollution such as air, water and soil pollution.

Conclusion

From all the above discussion, it is concluded that having sustainable development goals is highly essential as it is going to make sure that planet earth is becoming a more sustainable place to live in. It is concluded that the establishment of sustainable goals is making it easier for people living globally to bring positivity in society. It is concluded that the major reason due to which UNDP as established sustainable goals is to bring prosperity and the goal of health and well being in fulfilling this objective. It is also concluded that health of people living globally is essential for the development of peaceful and healthy society and in this respect, there are different targets which must be fulfilled so that the sustainable goal is achieved with efficiency and effectiveness.
