One of such most significant invention was that of the wheel. The oldest wheel was invented around 3500 BC around the period, which was referred to as the Bronze Age in Mesopotamia area. At his time, people were already planting crops, and wheels were used in drawing of water from wells as well as in the development of carts, which were used in the transportation of crops and other luggage across different places (Tomecek, p. 21). Today, the world’s development and most of the processes revolve around this invention. The civilization of the world which has been fostered around transportation is greatly attributed to this invention. The invention of the wheel from the steel wheels to the latest rubber wheel used today has dramatically impacted the spread of civilization across the world.
Through the invention of the wheels, the element of transportation has been put on a different level. Such as the development of cars, trains, and planes, which have fasted the aspect of civilization. This technology did promote the essential elements of civilization, such as trade and communication (Tomecek, p 48). Besides, the wheels have also made it possible for people to trade better, share ideas, and become more educated, an element that has significantly impacted the global civilization through the sharing of knowledge and ideas. Overly, the rate or pace of civilization has been accelerated by the invention of wheels.
