Teenagers and their unhealthy Eating Habits
Nutrition and activities play an essential role in a child’s life, by determining the weight. Today, most teenagers spend most of their time being inactive, due to the advanced technology of computer games and television series. However, teens have bad eating habits since they have engaged themselves in busy schedules, and lack time to prepare healthy meals. Some teens become sleep deprived by eating much food that is bad for them, and little food which is good for their health. Obesity begins before adulthood and it is evident that a third of teenagers in America of age 13 to 18 are obese.
(Hermes,2008). However, Childhood obesity is so real and should be addressed, no matter who is the fault to blame. Parents pamper their children that they fear to encourage them to go out and get some exercises, or rather avoid junk food.
If the blame on child obesity is placed on parents, it is obvious that most of them do not motivate their children with the right meals, and all that kids eat are French fries, burgers and sugary caddies. The aspect that contributes to a child being obese can be prevented, though it has been viewed as a complex task in the current days. Apparently, parents should be held accountable since until the child goes to school, they are responsible for making all the food choices for them. Nonetheless, placing the parents on the blame to parents overlooks at the complexity of the food environment. Further, some research shows that obese in teens is a matter of personal responsibility since they are old enough to fully understand the consequences.
