Testing the indoor air quality of houses

I would like to take this opportunity to write about the houses in Butte, which the MT tested their indoor air quality. The three houses of Both Smith, Jim Doe, and Jane Doe were all tested at different places. Jane Doe was tested at 1200 W Washington, Jim Doe at 1200S Park, and Bob Smith at 1300W Washington. The three individuals had their houses tested for carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, 2.5-micron particulate matter, and radon. The samples were also scheduled at the different times of the day, whereby Jim’s sample was scheduled at noon, Jane Doe, at 2:00 p.m and Bob Smith at 10:00 a.m.

The tests were taken as a way of giving precautions to the people about the qualities of air in their homes with the mentioned substances that are harmful to their health. The air that contains the traces of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide can replace the oxygen in the air hence causing the difficulties in breathing. Radon is said to be carcinogenic, and the particulate matter can cause respiratory diseases. Generally, poor indoor air quality affects the residents adversely and can sometimes cause deaths. The diseases associated with the respiratory system are very harmful, and it is advisable to always maintain the clean air..

According to the research, the safe levels of the said contaminants are 0 to 5 ppm of the carbon monoxide, 350-1000ppm of the carbon dioxide, 4pCi/L for radon, and less than 3.5 microgram/cubic meter for the participate matter. From the tests, it was said that Jim Doe’s house did not present any immediate concern. The only thing that needed to be updated here was the participation matter in the front room, which showed the high readings. In Jane Doe’s house, the radon traces were too normal, and it needed immediate concern. The front room also had the high precipitate matter of 3.5 micrograms/cubic meter though it was not over the standards of the EPA. Bob Smith’s house, there were no issues since everything was alright. The carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide were at the required states.

Those were collecting the data had their suggestion that a retest to be done on the overly high random levels, and confirm if the houses were safe for staying. For that matter, the house owners should help reduce the problems by increasing the ventilation, which would reduce PM2.5 and the levels of carbon dioxide. Bob and Jane are having one pet and one smoker, which are said to be the reasons for the high precipitate matter. The smoker should not be doing so in the house and also the pet should not be allowed to stay in the house for a long period. Being healthy is something we should consider important in our lives. Being healthy starts from the house and the air we breathe needs to be fresh to avoid the respiratory diseases.
