The ‘Alien’ movie review

The ‘Alien’ movie is classified as both a horror movie and a science-fiction one. It asks the questions, ‘what if?’ and ‘oh no!’. It is fiction because it presents a commercial crew that goes to space and meets a deadly alien. The alien escapes to the space ship that the crew has, and it takes much effort in dealing with it. It is a horrific experience. It is a science-fiction because of the abnormal events that occur. After Kane touches on the egg object, a creature comes out and bursts his helmet and later attaches itself to his face. After this, it grows to an alien and bursts out of his heart, thereby killing him (Scott et al. 7).

After the decline in movie attendance in different halls in the 1990s, there are various steps that Hollywood took to ensure that it remained in business. It embarked on carrying out numerous advertisements on its movies to lure people back into the theatres.  It also moved to the big-scale productions to attract back the big bucks. Big-scale productions always attract large audiences. The interior of the studios was improved. There was also critical monitoring of the accounting systems in monitoring the profits. It helped in proper decision making.

A movie is classified to be independent if it is produced out of a solid film studio system. Independent companies do their production and distribution. The movie should have a specific style and unique content that help ion noticing the vision of the artist. They are cheaper to produce. An example is Bad Lieutenant.

Hollywood is significantly involved in the marketing of these independent films. The large studios that belong to Hollywood invest more than half or even at sometimes close to twice the amounts of money of production in carrying out marketing campaigns. Hollywood helps in publicity. It does this through Billboards, advertisements on television, sponsorships, and online competitions.
