            Every actor wants their films edited immediately; they are done with the shooting of all the scenes. Most of the people prefer the editing part as it enables the movie to get the desired outcome and capture the attention of the viewer. Most editors take this opportunity and insert some headings that will guide the viewer on the main storyline of the film. In most cases, editing does not contribute to the main scene of the film. The editing, in most cases, involves light and sound adjustments to ensure that the viewer does not struggle while watching the movie. The editing ensures that there is no loss of the central theme of the film, and the documentary feel is maintained. In the editing of films, the storyline is always kept constant. This paper focuses on the little contributions of editing films concerning the bicycle thieves film.

The editor cuts the different scripts soon in such a way that if you are watching, no one can quickly realize the cutting of the texts.

The transition of scenes is essential to the viewer. The editor should always use an appealing effect when it comes to the development of the scripts. The editor in the film uses a transition that the viewer cannot easily detect any changes, and this assures the viewer not to develop eyesight complications because of the varying strengths of brightness. At the transition, the editor also tries to ensure that the intensity is balanced to prevent the over-exaggeration of some of the scenes. The balancing of brightness also ensures that the actual view of the film is maintained, and the central theme is communicated without excessive use of public relations.

The use of different and relevant sound effects is essential in expressing the different emotions within the film. The sounds used within the film should be balanced such that the rhythm is maintained, and at the same time, the words spoken by the actor are well heard. The editor of the film has used music bits that try to express the different emotions within the scripts. The use of a low tonnage that has a slow beat shows the agony and helps the viewer of the film to suspect what is likely to happen in the next script.

Making creative decisions in films is based on the views of the editor. During the editing process, the editor has to involve one of the key actors who is familiar with the full storyline to ensure that the decisions he/she makes during editing are creative and will not have any negative impact on the film. The editor of the film must have applied very innovative and creative decisions in the editing process concerning lowering the speed of the father and the son after the scandal. The editor makes them appear to stroll and allow the viewer to see how they both turn out to be emotional. The slow movement allows the viewer to sympathize with them due to what they have gone through together.

Translation of films to a language that is common to most people is essential. In the movie, the editor has used subtitles to translate the film in English (De Sica, 2020). The translation helps in the advocacy of the film across the different parts of the globe due to a lack of language barrier while watching.

To conclude, video editing does very little in contributing to the different scenes within the film. The film will always remain with its original documentation and the storyline after editing. It is essential to note that the editor can contribute to the more significant achievement on the number of people who will get interested in viewing the film depending on how he/she has edited the film. The editing will always be an eye-catcher to the view and helps in creating a summary and cutting off the unnecessary parts within the film. The editor ensures the images and different sound effects are blended to achieve the theme and emotions of the film.  It is always good to note that, during editing, some of the scripts may be repeated if, according to the editor, they do not conform to the theme of the film.
