The caring and forgiving Jesus
Jesus, I am that shrub that provided the thorn to prick you,
I am the sheep that provided the skin to prepare the whip that did beat you, contained the bones used to make the strap more efficient.
I am the metal that provided shackle used to seize you, beads for agonizing you, the chain that tied you for scourging, that made a hammer for nailing you on to the cross, the nail that fixed you on the cross, the arrowhead for spearing you. All this is that i may mock you more.
I am the tree that provided the timber for the cross and the clubs that you may not die peacefully.
I am the gland that provided saliva to spat on you, wet mouths to mock and deny you, to sentence you to death, to accuse you falsely, shouted: “crucify him.” Go…d! Why do you love me?
Jesus, I am the hand that received the 30denariis as the price of a slave, the one that held the shackles when seizing you, the clubs and swords when coming for you as if you were a revolutionist. I am the hand that held the whip when scourging you to the point of near-death, the one that held the hammer and nails when fixing you to the cross, the one that operated the spear. Also, i am the one that held clubs for breaking your leg for swifter death, the one that sealed the tomb to prevent your resurrection. Pooh! Lord, how foolish I am, but still, you love me.
I am the leg that carried Judas to betray and peter to follow you at a distance planning to deny you, the one that freed disciples from you. again, father i am the soldier when he pushed you to walk towards Golgotha without considering your pain as well as when they came to seize you, the one that carried me bold in order to mock you even on Calvary, and still you gave me grace and peace, tell me now! Why you love me Jesus.
I am the brain that instructed Judas to go and betray you, to take the 30 denarii’s, instructed peter to deny you, told the disciples to free and leave you, told the rulers to sentence and put you to death, directed people to mock, spat, slap and even take out your beards. Jesus, today I want to know why you love me.
even after all these, Jesus, you lived righteously for me, you prayed for me, mistreated for me, mocked for me, ashamed for me, rejected for me when you were still righteous, crucified on my behalf, withstood all the agony all the way from Gethsemane, Gabbatha to Golgotha for my sake and finally, you died for me. Why do all these for me when I still go against you???
You have made me your friend, you care for me, have promised me eternal life, you intercede for me till date, you say that I though a sinner, I shall judge the angels, which grounds of goodness do I have if it’s not you grace? YOU GIVE ME PEACE, joy faithfulness, diligence etc. what a love??? And still Jesus, you do provide abundantly for me, yes jesus you have given me everything i need.
Now i can praise the King, for He is great than i could have ever imagined, He has given me everything i could want, MEN!!! I am too limited to explain His goodness. May He reign forever.
